FAQs about hotels in England
The Small Country with Big Appeal
For a relatively small country, England certainly manages to pack in a wealth of tourist attractions, from Land’s End all the way to Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Words can’t do justice to the capital London - an exciting mix of famous sights, royalty and vibrant life. Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham are fabulous cities that have emerged from their industrial past to be cutting-edge centres of culture.
Newcastle, Leeds and Bristol are well known for their buzzy music scene, while sedate Oxford and Cambridge are famous for their universities and punting. Stately York still maintains its city walls and Windsor has the wonderful castle where the Queen often resides.
Sheffield and Derby border the magnificent Peak District, while the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are close to Blackpool, one of England’s favourite beach destinations. Other very popular beaches are in Brighton, Eastbourne, Torquay and Scarborough.
With a beautifully rugged coastline, mystical Cornwall has England hotels in the country, as do the Cotswolds where stone houses line picturesque villages. The Georgian spa cities of Bath and Harrogate also have impressive stone architecture.
This is just the tip of the iceberg of what England has to offer, but wherever you visit, you can be sure that Booking.com has a fantastic range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in England to choose from.

- From $112.49 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very Good - What previous guests thought, 2,797 reviewsWe had an amazing stay here. The staff were so kind and accommodating. When an issue with our room couldn't be resolved, they moved us to a better room, to ensure that we had a comfortable stay, which was amazing. The space was beautiful, with stunning views and clean, stylish interiors. There were beautiful walks, tennis courts, games, restaurants, with easy access to St Ives. Would definitely recommend, for the fabulous staff and gorgeous, comfortable spaces.Guest review byMeganFrance

Plenty to see and do, we mainly walked as the weather was good. We saw the devil wears prada which was excellent, although very very loud. Drinks in the theatre were expensive ( a small glass of wine was £12.50). Plenty going on in Covent Garden’s, and coffee at the rooftop garden in the opera house was a treat.and reasonably priced. The staff there were helpful but very slow, and there seemed to be a lack of cups ans saucers. The waiter had to find used cups and wash them before he was able to complete an order. Also very inexperienced he has ti be shown how to stack 2 coffees onto a tray.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

A favourite city of ours - Love Manchester for shopping, food, cocktails, music venues - we love going to gigs here. Trams are very easy to use. Great museum, art gallery, bookshops, libraries and interesting buildings to wander around.Guest review bykerryUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Vibrant city. Great People.
Vibrant city. Great People. Nice destination for UK City break. Try the 360 degree experience on top of Liver Building if you want a birds eye view. Plenty of tourist haunts centred around the Beatles of course. Some great historic pubs if you look for them on the less trodden paths.Guest review byMattUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Blackpool is a very vibrant and busy coastal resort, it is a shame that many of the coastal buildings and those just of the main strip look very run down and mucky. There are some very nice parts of Blackpool but there are some very disappointing run down areas which could do with some action from the council.Guest review byRichard - 10.0
Newcastle is special.
Newcastle is special. We lie in the North East of England but are so not English. Famous for the following: NUFC Carabou Cup winners 2025. Springhill farm in Seahouses and Hadrians Wall campsite near the Sill Nightlife: Theatre, Pubs and nightclubs a foodies paradise Hiking: It's Northumberland !! Sailing : Marina's o the Tyne and the last one in England at Amble run by Boatfolk Shopping: Bargains galore and some high end designer shops if you are into that sort of thing Ferries: Don't skip Newcastle on your way to Scotland for your family holiday on the DFDS ferry Geordie dictionaries available in the library : you will need themGuest review byDeniseUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Bristol is a city with a lot of buzz! It has its rougher edges but that's part of the charm. I loved the amount of street art, the really cool musea, and the overall vibe and amount of cool independent shops.Guest review bynolothotSpain - 10.0

The city itself has a lot going on but is also a 30-minute train ride from other interesting towns, like York, Saltaire, and Ilkley. Easy to get around by food, despite the awful freeways that carve up the city and the major construction at the railway station.Guest review byrobAustralia - 10.0

Very convenient to get to/from T5. Pod wasn’t running evening I returned from trip but was the next morning. Efficient check in, room seemed furthest from reception, clean and comfortable bed but there was a loud, constant humming all night so I didnt get much sleep.Guest review bycbutler67United Kingdom
