Everything about this place was immaculately presented, the grounds were absolutely stunning especially during autumn time. We loved the level of thought that had gone into this place and will be back again!

A convenient place to stay, but nothing special.

A convenient place to stay, but nothing special. There were a few good places to eat, but it was just an ordinary town. Still, it was cheap and the day after my stay it gave me easy access to the Brecon Beacon National Park.

Peaceful setting in a beautiful area.

Peaceful setting in a beautiful area. We did not go out as the cabin was amazing. The bed was comfy and there was plenty to do with board games a tv and books. Local shops around for you to top up on any essentials and lots of walks and places to see.

Abertillery is a small town with some beautiful architecture. Like many places in Wales many of the shops and cafes have closed but there is still a bustling feel and Abertillery is perfectly placed for hikes and walks in the countryside.

It is a functional newly decorated property.

It is a functional newly decorated property. Send a message before you go and ask for clear instructions on where it is (next to kings arms) and who to collect keys from. Ask if the wifi/tv is set up if important to you. Beds are very soft so may be unsuitable for some people. There is a private outdoor space but not to sit in or enjoy. Doesn’t feel like you want to linger in the property.

You can see that Ebbw Vale is in decline due to the Steel Works that closed some time ago and the coal mines, also shopping centre that used to be there has closed. Overall not much happening for this town, but the people where very friendly

This is a fabulous hotel, worthy of far more than 3 stars in my opinion. The hotel and restaurant were so well kept and decorated, the evening meal was superb, I can highly recommend the Skewer! The room was very spacious, huge very comfortable bed and the shower room perfect. Breakfast was included in our very good price and it was excellent! Plenty to eat and good choices.

The town itself was remote and not much that we found as a 30 something couple to do. However the cabin we stayed in meant we didn't really have to leave. We went to another local town where that was a few more things for us personally. Blaina and surrounding areas would suit people who like to be exploring on walks up hills and mountains.

Ideally located for our needs on our 2 nights stay.

Ideally located for our needs on our 2 nights stay. Quite hilly which we found amusing. Felt very quaint, lots of places to buy takeaways, very friendly people. There was fabulous play area for children near to where we stayed that included well kept tennis courts. We had really lovely fish from Blackmore’s fish and chip shop at Bryn-Heulog, great service!

Countryside was lovely, old fashioned houses, friendly people. Travelling on roads that didn't have potholes was a novel. Will going back hopefully next summer. Plenty of places to eat if you do your research like we did.
