We had a very nice stay for two nights at Royal Hotel! When calling the receptionist and telling that we would arrive late she arranged with the staff in the restaurant so they stayed overtime to serve a delicious meal. The restaurant served us very good cooked breakfasts as well as dinners. The housekeeper Bertie was very helpful taking care of our laundry. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed warmly and enthusiastically by Simon at the front desk, who honestly made this stay go from excellent to absolutely superb. He was extremely helpful with giving us ideas of where to visit on the island and how to get there, and where we could get some dinner, completely unprompted. All the staff I spoke with during our stay were wonderful and a credit to the hotel. The room was a great size, clean and comfortable, the wifi was good and the pancakes at breakfast hit the spot perfectly. A lovely little village, not near much but perfect for a quiet nights stay whilst exploring Uist.

I spent two nights at the Crown Inn in Stornoway with my brother and his family and we had a very pleasant stay! The rooms were comfortable and very cleaned, very generous breakfast, and great position, in the town centre and just five minutes walk from the ferry terminal. If you've got a car there is a free parking space just in front of the building. The first night we decided to have dinner at the Crown Inn restaurant and we enjoyed it so much that we decided to book a table for dinner the following night as the food was great and there was also a beautiful view on the seaside and on the castle. The staff has been kind and helpful! If I ever have the chance to visit the isle again, and I really hope I will, I will have no doubts and book at the Crown Inn again. The Isle of Harris and Lewis is astonishing, really miss it!

Unreal location, especially if you're leaving for a St Kilda Cruise in the morning. Very secluded and peaceful with all modern conveniences. Breakfast with actual Stornoway black pudding was awesome. The host Carolanne is amazing, a proper local who knows the islands well and is extremely accommodating.

Set in Garrabost and only 42 km from Callanish Standing Stones, Peninsula Cottage offers accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. The property has quiet street views.

This was such a well stocked little flat and the hosts were supremely helpful. It also came with a really detailed guide book which we loved.
