New ZealandNestled in a small village enroute to our trip north, it was a perfect place to stop. Bernard and staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was extremely comfortable, clean and modern. Bernard gave us tips on how to use the coffee machine and charge our phones. Also supplied us with a number to contact if we had any questions! Breakfast was delish and everything we needed. Would definitely stay again AND again!

Has a restaurant and a bar serving variety of drinks, breakfast and classic english cuisine which was very convenient as it felt like hotel was totally off grid.It is dead quiet at night we felt like we were single guests in there.
Very friendly and attentive team members, from very welcoming reception team to extremely helpful bar/kitchen staff. We are both vegans and Kitchen staff made sure to check all the ingredients to cater for us. Just perfect!

Excellent facility in a lovely village. Ambience and food good, staff very pleasant. The location of our accommodation meant we were able to visit several places in Rutland - as well as just on the outskirts - including Stamford, Uppingham, Oakham (and Melton Mowbray on our return home!) Uppingham itself is a small market type town with some interesting independent shops and pubs. The Old Pheasant is very typical of a coach inn, with very modern fixture and fittings. The food (dinner) was excellent and the continental breakfast was very good. The staff were very tentative and extremely useful and helpful, nothing phased them out and nothing was a problem for them.
