Beware of certain taxi services who do not understand your requirements because of their poor english-speaking capabilities, and who therefore do not turn up at important moments. If staying at the Hotel International, let them book the taxis for you. My English is perfect, but I did not understand a word some of the taxi call-centers were saying!

A beautiful old town with lot of very good ancient pubs. The church is spectacular - but then it does get 5 stars in the 1000 English Churches guide. Th castle - although a ruin is well worth a visit.

The Victorian town at Blists Hill is well worth a visit as is a walk over the iron bridge. There are plenty of places to eat and drink. Ironbridge is best discovered on foot and there are carparks so you can park up and do this.

Lots of beautiful historical buildings to see, especially in High Town near the church. So many pubs to visit, everyone was very friendly. The funicular and the steam trains are worth a ride, and the views from the top of the hill over the river are breathtaking. The independent shops are very good, especially the bakers where the bread and cakes were well worth queuing for.

Bewdley is a charming Georgian town with good facilities and well worth exploring. There are lovely walks along the River Severn and many more that lead out of the town. And nearby is the unique expanse of ancient woodlands - the Wyre Forest.

We had a lovely weekend visiting university daughter. Stayed at The Swan Inn on Lower Bar. Loved the short stroll to the high street and shopping. Very friendly locals. Lots more to do than we had time for. Had Sunday lunch at The Lamb Inn at Edgmond - highly recommended. The architecture of the buildings along the high street was lovely.
