- From $148.20 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 379 reviewsBreakfast was delicious with home made granola, and bread with lovely home made jam. The full scottish breakfast was superb. The conservatory was a beautiful place to eat and to view the gorgeous well kept garden (to which guests have access). The house has been beautifully furnished and much thought has been given to the interesting art. The hosts go absolutely above and beyond to make their guests comfortable and nothing was too much trouble, even down to the variety of gins in the honesty bar! Would definitely recommend.Guest review byHeatherUnited Kingdom
- From $740.99 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 1,156 reviewsWe spent four nights here over Christmas, as a family that travels a lot, this was a stay that really stood out. The staff went the extra mile and the attention to detail was unparalleled. From a little robe and slippers for our daughter. Milk and cookies every evening. One detail that I’ve never had before, was our charing cables next to the bed were neatly tied every night. The staff were all tremendous, if there was an option for a 6th star ⭐️ that would’ve been well deserved.Guest review byJohanQatar

Arrived by train at Central station, two Taxi-drivers told us they did not know the Apex Hotel which was only a few hundred yards away. I suspect they did not want a short booking. We decided to walk. As two eighty year olds with suitcases after a long journey from Essex, this was exhausting! Then to be told that there was no bar or evening restaurant gave us a very poor initial impression. The room and breakfast were fineGuest review byColinUnited Kingdom - 8.0
The train station is right in the main part of town.
The train station is right in the main part of town. Lots of hotels are easy walking distance, even hauling luggage! We went out of Inverness to the Loch, to see Urquhart Castle and out on the Firth, which were great experiences, but I wish we had had the time to also see the museum and go on a walking tour of Inverness itself. We did use GetYourGuide to meet a lovely woman who made us lunch in her home with locally foraged ingredients, and then we engaged her to take us around Inverness a bit and out to Culloden. Well worth the cost! We enjoyed McGregor's Whisky Experience and had a great meal at Auctioneer's Pub. We spent some time at Hootenanny's, but I would have liked to have more time to listen to even more music at more locales. Leaky's bookstore is worth a drop-by. I found some lovely old prints there. And if you are headed into the Highland Moors for hiking, go to Graham's across the street from the Castle. Great products, the quality you need for a moorland trek, and the staff were fabulous!Guest review byKarenUnited States - 10.0

Only had a day there but went on a boat trip in the morning. Nice little shopping centre and the church was worth a visit. Lots of shops, pubs and eating places. Had a very nice dinner at Crannog restaurant. We were too late to see the Museum as it was just shutting at 4.00 pm.Guest review byAnitaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lots to do, places to eat and gateway to the isles. Having a car makes it easier to get around and visit places outside the town, but a bonny stopping point. Definitely have seafood as it couldn’t be any fresher. Had to go a bit further for a good dog walk.Guest review byNicolaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The fact that we stayed beside the grounds of the Battle of Bannockburn was fantastic, great history, unfortunately the visitor centre was closed during our stay. We were there for the history and were not disappointed, taking in the Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, Battle of Bannockburn, The Kelpies, and the Falkirk Wheel. Having a rental vehicle with built in navigation was a bonus and made getting around so much easier than if doing so strictly by map.Guest review byrobertsonCanada - 6.0

Pitlochry is a beautiful town, but now so many visitors you cannot get in any restaurants unless booked in advance and walking on the street is hazardous for anyone with mobility issues as you have to keep trying to avoid people not looking where they are going.Guest review byAnnaCanada - 8.0

The hotel was very close to the bus stop which took us to Arbroath, a cute little village that we wanted to see. The bus station and cruise terminal were also close to the hotel. The dining options in Dundee were great, many to choose from, people in the shops friendly. The visit to the "Discovery" ship was great and would recommend this attraction. On the whole, it was easy to get around Dundee on foot or using the local bus. The local bus drivers were great and helpful to us as overseas visitors but some were very gruff, rude and unhelpful and assumed we would know things that as overseas visitors, we had no idea and spoke to us in a gruff and abrupt manner. This was the only detraction.Guest review byDaleAustralia - 10.0
I love this neck of the woods.
I love this neck of the woods. Plenty to do if you are an outdoors person or just want a break from busy places. It is a nice laid back location where there is a lot less hassle. Lots of nice food places - either restaurants or take-aways and plenty of shops where you could buy your own food if you don't want to go out. Highly recommended. If the weather is not so good there are plenty of lovely places you can drive to within 45 minutes.Guest review byMarkUnited Kingdom
