This hotel was a wonderful discovery. It is an old coaching inn built in the 1600s and it has been beautifully decorated and is run by the owner and two other middle aged ladies and they run the place like a well oiled machine. We were very impressed. Food was the best food we had during a week in Scotland. We highly recommend this hotel.

This is a very well run establishment with excellent amenities. The dining, bar and breakfast room are superb, service outstanding from staff who are well trained and pleasant. Good food, a reasonable wine selection all topped off with an exceptionally comfy room (great nibbles provided) and modern bathroom, makes for a pretty perfect stay. Exceptional value for money too. They deserve support and we wish them a successful summer season ahead.

The Winnock is the oldest Hotel in the UK. It was full of character and charm. The location was perfect for exploring the Trossachs. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful Liz and Nora were the first ones I met and I liked the fact they even introduced themselves and said if I need anything just ask and they were very approachable. Also, a young lad from the bar/restaurant who was from Mexico was very helpful. Food was delicious. Pet friendly room.was amazing. Even tried a.spa treatment which was also.very nice and the spa itself is.great as well so is its staff. Location is beautiful. Haven't had such nice stay for a long time. I had a great stay at Balquhidder Braes. We rented a log cabin with a hot tub, and it exceeded our expectations. The hot tub was perfect - spacious and secluded, with the water at just the right temperature. The log cabin itself was very cozy, and the living room had plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking. Definetly recommended!

The history of Stirling, it’s pivotal setting as the link between the Highlands and lowland Scotland, it’s Royal connections and it’s impressive buildings made our first visit here memorable. We will certainly come again to explore further. The castle, the Holy Rood church and the historic old river bridge and site of the battle in 1297 (?) were the highlights for us.

A small village in Scottish Highlands. I'd recommend to have a short stop there if you are going more up North. If you need to stay overnight then you will find several hotels and cabins (for rent). There are a couple of good restaurants and cafes. There is a small shop and a petrol station too.

Aberfoyle is a nice little town with a some nice (tourist) shops . We liked the sheepdog display in front of the Scottish Wool Centre best. Very informative show with different types of sheep, a sheepdog that guides some ducks along a parcours. The show lasts 30mins and is for FREE. Great food at restaurant Fairie Tree Inn. Easy walk (30mins return) to a nice waterfall and a feeding place for red squirrels and lots of birds from the Lodge Forest Visitor Centre. Glasgow in easy distance (45mins by car).

We expected it to be nice but when we arrived we were simply blown away by the lodge and the peaceful park it is based in. The lodge was spacious and clean and had everything a family needed for a relaxing break. The bedrooms were great and the shower and bath facility was also top class. The WiFi was as good as anywhere I've ever stayed and the park with private beach was truly spectacular. We couldn't recommend this place more if we tried and will be coming back every year as the owner was very helpful and friendly as well.
