The location is really isolated up a narrow drive and a long way from civilization. The room is spacious, comfortable beds, good kitchen facilities and very high quality and interesting decor. Good views. Wifi worked well. Great TV (we used Netflix which worked well with just occasional glitches). Very clean and well appointed in every way.

By far the best hotel I have stayed at, it was beyond my expectations.
The building itself is elegant whilst keeping the original features and charm.
The rooms were like apartments huge, the front of house staff and chef went above and beyond even gave our pooch a sausage for breakfast and lots of fuss.
The food on the evening and breakfast was plenty, delicious and lots of choice.
Loved this place and will definitely be back again.

Staff: Very nice and attentive. Lorraine, Andy and Nigel great people; helpful and caring. Thanks for your hospitality.
Accomodation: We stayed in Studio. Clean, comfortable beds and a hot strong shower. Perfect place for a few days.
Parking place is outside the property ( free of charge). If it's busy, there is another parking, closeby. After the check out, you can leave the car and go and explore more.
Food: Fresh and delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly. Strawberry cheesecake superb. And the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs absolutely yummy.
Location: Perfect! Close to many trails in the area!
Perfect food to fill your tummy before the long hike.

The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect for us as we were heading to wastwater to go paddle boarding, and the facilities were great. For a bargain price room it had everything we needed. We ate in the restaurant for our evening meal and breakfast, the food was great quality and very well priced.

I feel it is a good place to stay with like minded...
I feel it is a good place to stay with like minded travellers whom I feel you could easily chat with. Good food and excellent drinks at the micro brewery. I had the beef brisket burger and cider, very good and a good breakfast in the morning. The area of Wasdale of course is famous for the great fell walking in the area. There are also campsites around and Waswater where you can admire the views, walk around if your game or bring a paddle board or kayak along.

This is a great base for hiking the Western fells.
This is a great base for hiking the Western fells. We were lucky with the weather but the views around here are beautiful. We ate at the Strands hotel. There is a good choice of meals and the portions are generous. Lovely food.

Nether Wasdale was chosen because it was central to walking areas. Easy access to Wasdale head.The cafe at the sawmill was very good, it also had a shop. The area is remote so not at all touristy. We stayed at the Strands Inn which has a microbrewery, the beer is excellent. The evening meals were good. Its a long way from our home in Manchester to the west of Cumbria but worth the journey.
