Beautiful room, attention to detail and decor, treats for the guest like bathrobes, slippers, welcoming chocolates etc. The staff was absolutely fantastic, especially Cameron who did our check-in, he went the extra mile to make sure we are comfortable and he also helped us to plan our trip around the city to make the most out of the limited time we had in York. Breakfast was worth the money. Access to parking on the premises was also a win for us. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Attractive town with distinctive architecture, ample accommodation and the famous Betty's tea shop, which currently serves excellent evening meals in addition to its excellent tea and superb cakes. The RHS Harlow Carr gardens are there with a second Betty's tea room. A main attraction missing from your list.

Whitby is full of character, history and some fantastic eateries. The old and new parts of Whitby both offers a range of places to stay, visit and eat. Walking around was amazing, the abbey offering fantastic views out to sea and across land. Transport connections were good, rail and bus station adjacent to each other and also local taxis nearby too. We found Whitby to be a great base to also explore the Yorkshire moors, very enjoyable.

The city itself is not so very interesting, but it is an excellent location for countless wonderful trips to other nearby cities, towns and countryside, very easily accessible by train or bus. (Leeds, York, Harrogate, Ripon, Knaresborough, Fountains Abbey, Halifax, Haworth, Hebden Bridge, NP Yorkshire Dales, ...... ). In Bradford, see what's playing at the beautiful historic theatre.

Doncaster town is very depressing.

Doncaster town is very depressing. Big shops moved out and lots of shops closed entirely. Such a shame. We lived here for eleven years and moved with work but come back frequently to see friends. From the bank HSBC up Hallgate to the top is a very sad sight. Money needs investing to make it lovely again.
