The city itself has a lot going on but is also a 30-minute train ride from other interesting towns, like York, Saltaire, and Ilkley. Easy to get around by food, despite the awful freeways that carve up the city and the major construction at the railway station.Guest review byrobAustralia - 10

The Minster guides and guided tours are really helpful and informative. They point out all sorts of features one might miss otherwise. Go to see the Treasurer's House behind the Minster for a quirky and interesting house tour, lovely garden and a nice cafe with good soup and scones. The Merchant Adventurer's Hall right across the road from our rental property was new to me and well worth a visit with a nice not too crowded cafe and garden too.Guest review byJ LUnited Kingdom - 10

Loved the town, daughter has her heart set on Hallam uni now. Keep an eye on which way you walk in and out of the city from the hotel as there were dodgy areas, like any city. Loved the fact that the centre is almost all pedestrianised. Had a fab meal in Bella Italia.Guest review byAnonymous - 10

I think Scarborough as it all - with loads to do, places to eat and range of accommodation. Word of warning - during the winter season, many of the attractions are only open in school holidays and weekends. This is the case at Peasholm Park and the train to Scalby MillsGuest review byLesleyUnited Kingdom - 10

Bradford has a multi-cultural historical centre and is vibrant , especially during the year of culture. The markets are also multicultural and recently renovated. Clearly a city with an interesting past and a great future. The city ihas become a real cultural hub.Guest review byNunnUnited Kingdom - 2.0
Doncaster town is very depressing.
Doncaster town is very depressing. Big shops moved out and lots of shops closed entirely. Such a shame. We lived here for eleven years and moved with work but come back frequently to see friends. From the bank HSBC up Hallgate to the top is a very sad sight. Money needs investing to make it lovely again.Guest review byEileenUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Huddersfield doesn't have the best of reputations, which is a pity. I think that it's an absolute gem. The buildings are gorgeous, particularly to one who looks, such detail and reference to the industrial past. From the entrance steps to the railway station, one can see a lion and a prime minister. If you roam and keep your eyes open, there is so much more. I ate at my hotel. i travelled by car,Guest review byRichardUnited Kingdom
