A Well-Kept Secret
Evia (or Euboea) is the 2nd largest island of Greece and is connected with 2 bridges to the mainland. Ideal for summer and winter holidays, this unique destination features hot springs, lovely beaches, green mountains, traditional villages and a ski centre.
Located on the north-east side of Attica, Evia is a walkers' paradise thanks to the old stone paths connecting the picturesque villages with the stunning forest areas. Inhabited since prehistoric times and known for its seafood and handcrafts, Euboea also has many thermal sources.
Visit the coastal town of Edipsos and relax in one of the natural spas with the healing powers. Chalkida is the biggest town on Evia, offering a big variety of shops, restaurants and nightclubs. Around Chalkida are a number of towns, including the tourist resort of Eretria.
The charming town of Karystos is one of the most famous fishing places of Greece. Artaki, Nea Stira, Heliadou, Kimi, Angali, Agiokambos and Agios Georgis are just some of the beaches of this gorgeous island.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 765 reviewsWe go not normally go all-inclusive in Greece, but we got a great rate at Amaronda so we decided to give it a try. And what a great decision it was! We spent a lovely, relaxing 6 nights there and there is nothing to complain about. Everything is clean and well-organized, the staff is doing a great job, so everything runs smoothly. For an all-inclusive resort the place is really quiet, no noisy parties or guests causing problems. It is true that the entertainment is addressed primarily to French guests, but we knew that and it was not a problem. Contrary to some reviews, the beach was fine for us, the only complaint was cold sea water (didn't try the pool, although it looked great and probably warmer water there) and windy weather, but the hotel can hardly be blamed for that. In all, we were pleasantly surprised by everything, especially the unexpected upgrade to a seaside bungalow, and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Thanks, Amaronda!Guest review byJoannaPoland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 468 reviewsSuch an amazing experience at Thalatta. If you're looking for a place you can stop, drop, and do nothing for a few days to a week, this is perfect. We didn't need to leave the hotel at all - the rooms, pool, beach, everything, was better than expected. The staff are so helpful and friendly, they really made our stay there 10/10. I booked in for a massage in the spa which was exceptional, and the gym facilities are small but very new and modern. You can even book the gym out completely so you have the entire space to yourself. We don't have kids yet but there were many children there kept entertained at the kids club. When we do have children, I would 100% come back to Thalatta as I know they'll have a fun experience too! The breakfast is also outstanding. It was included in our room fee and honestly was one of the best breakfasts I've had on a European holiday. So much choice!Guest review byKatelynUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 114 reviewsFantastic warm place family run, yet very professional. Not a thing a can think of that would not fit. And last not least I dont eat in hotels I stay, I had a lunch at the swimming pool and it was by far better than what I had anywhere there. Well deserved 10 and surely I will be back once Skyros is a target.Guest review byPawelPoland

it was my 3rd time in Chalkida: its a 100.000 inhabitants town and its typical Greek city: dirty, loud, traffic out of control - every driver is doing what he wants. be careful when you cross the road by foot!! you have a very clean and calm shopping mall and a tourist area on the beach where is a lot of Restaurants. unfortunately, the later the evening, the louder the music. we were in Mostar meeting friends and you could not understand your own word. whats sense of so loud music in a Restaurant? around Chalkida there are a lot of wonderful, peaceful places. visit the beach areas or the Castle Cafe for a good cup! prices in most restaurants are very fair, but be careful not to be tricked: especially when you choose fish, ASK BEFORE what it will cost!Guest review byStephanAustria - 10.0

Eretria is a beautiful town, and the entire island of Euboea is truly a hidden gem. We highly recommend stepping out of the usual tourist routes and discovering this authentic and charming part of Greece.Guest review byLucieCzech Republic - 6.0
Center was busy, nice and well endowed.
Center was busy, nice and well endowed. Many restaurants, and people walking around downtown in the evenings. That place has a history of tourism which is visible and valued by the city hall. Better beaches are further away. Not so easy to find a supermarket or a mini-market in the center. Ferry not available after 7 pm so when travelling by car need to adjust schedule accordingly. .Guest review byBogdanRomania - 10.0
It is a pleasant resort for a stay at the sea.
It is a pleasant resort for a stay at the sea. The marina is a pleasant place to walk and visit. There are many terraces/restaurants/taverns for dining. The nearby Galida beach is very long, with calm, clear water, with few stones. There are parking lots right next to the beach, under the shade of the pine trees. There is a tavern on the beach. Winds are specific in the area, but despite all that, the sea has no waves, it is good for swimming. There are not many places to buy souvenirs in the city. We ate at the Cavo D'Oro tavern and Fingerfood, and we recommend.Guest review byAnaRomania - 2.0
We vistit the city in October 2025.
We vistit the city in October 2025. The town of Amarynthos itself was very boring and most restaurants were closed or had a very limited selection of food and drinks. Unfortunately, we had several experiences of downright rude and poor behavior and service towards us as guests. It was clear that they didn't want more tourists this season.Guest review byCharlotte KlaassenDenmark - 10.0

Skyros is not overly commercialised which makes it a perfect destination. Lovely beaches, hospitality and tavernas. Molos beach is the best. Kalimistas beach is worth a visit. Asterias taverna is the best place to eat in Molos a d on the beach.Guest review byAlisonUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The hotel is a perfect spot for relaxation.
The hotel is a perfect spot for relaxation. The staff is nice and polite, the room is perfectly clean. The beach, which is right next to the hotel is beautiful with crystal clear water. It is rocky though, so you might want to put on a pear of water shoes. There are plenty of restaurants in the area to choose from, and the food they served were all absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!Guest review byAndiHungary - 6.0
Nice hotel basically. Soundproof rooms. Nice balcony.
Nice hotel basically. Soundproof rooms. Nice balcony. Pretty low class breakfast. It is an Italian hotel, and the Italians don’t do much for breakfast, so maybe that’s why it didn’t compare to the marvelous breakfast I had the day before at the Athenaeum Grand in Athens. The room was very hot when I checked in at midnight, and the single air conditioner never cooled the room before morning. Nice shower.Guest review byPatrickUnited States - 10.0

Chalkida is a unique city with a canal and an old bridge famous for its "crazy waters" meaning the high and low tide which you can actually see . It has beautiful cafés on the promenade in front of the canal fantastic shopping, lots of pedestrian streets for good quality shopping, great food. It is a great escape from Athens for a weekend or a couple of days at the entrance of Evia island. You can go to further destinations in Evia easily. I would highly recommend the city for a short stay. Bear in mind that it is difficult to get around by car but the parking spots are very affordable. I would recommend the seaside of Lefkanti 20 min awayGuest review byMariaGreece - 2.0

A village with a small port and a main street with a few gift shops and restaurants. Food not really great and not fresh. We tried calamary and it was super gummy. Nothing to do, beach is a muddy strip with tons of trash on it. Not much a of night life and only retired older people here.Guest review byDaniela
