- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 208 reviewsWe stayed at Lazaretto Palace while visiting family on Ithaki. Our ferry arrived very early, before check-in, but we were allowed to leave our luggage there while had coffee and visited with family. We booked two rooms and both were excellent. Everything was very clean. We were given water bottles at check in which was helful. The rooms were very spavious and the beds were comfortable and the shower is large. The balcony view is breathtaking. It was so nice to sit there in the mornings and evenings, looking at the beautiful Vathi bay. The kitchenette had everything we needed, and the fridge was pretty much brand new. We loved the breakfast provided, which included breads, cereals, yogurt, eggs (hardboiled, scrambled, fried) , bacon, sausage, lunch meats, fresh tomato, coffee, milk, and juices. They also had a variety of jams and yogurt toppings. We'd eat our food on the outdoor balcony tables and it was just perfect. Kudos to the chef. It is a short walk to the city center. Vassily, checked on us every day to make sure everything was okay with our stay. He was very kind and welcoming. He also let us leave our luggage after check out until we headed back to the ferry. We would absolutely stay at Lazaretto again.Guest review byJennifer LevarioUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 113 reviewsWe loved it. The location was excellent, you walk for 30 seconds and you are right on Dexa Beach. There are sunbeds there (6 of them) that are free for the people that are staying in these apartments . There is also a little canteen for coffee and staff, but it was closed in the morning (maybe because it is the middle of September though). It is 3 minutes by car from Vathy and 10 minutes from the port, but it is also kind of secluded and quiet. There is a private parking which was really important to us because we have a rather large car. The apartment had an amazing view from it's little balcony. Inside, it is equipped with everything it says it has. The room was cleaned every day and it had a very comfortable bed. It was also a lot bigger than we expected. It had two beds, a full dining table, a perfectly functional kitchen and a comfortable bathroom. The staff was kind and accommodating. . All in all, one of the few places we've stayed that were actually better than what we thought from the photos. We would definitely love to visit againGuest review byEVANTHIAGreece
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 34 reviewsAmazing view, comfortable place that instantly feels like home. We loved sitting on the balcony in the morning and evening and enjoying the view with a cup of coffee or or glass of wine :) having two bathrooms was perfect for me and my cousin to have our own space. Walk to the grocery store and main part of town was only about 5-10 minutes. Absolutely would look to stay here specifically again if coming back.Guest review byRinkUnited States
- From $233.84 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 249 reviewsLocation, ocean view even from our bed, large clean room, the manner that the furniture and art is blended to create a unique and extremely pleasing ambiance. Katerina, with her constantly happy and pleasant demeanor and overwhelming attention to detail, was solely instrumental in making our stay perfect and eager to come back....or at least be an ambassador for others to have their expectations exceeded.Guest review byIoannisGreece
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 49 reviewsOur stay was impeccable. The house we stayed in was in a perfect location with a view of the forest, had all the amenities and was spotlessly clean. Panagiotis is an excellent host, friendly and kind, he helped us see the most beautiful parts of the island and made us feel at home. Truly the best place to stay!Guest review byMARILENAGreece
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 106 reviewsThe owners are extremely attentive and thoughtful. The location is perfect as you can rent a boat by just asking the front desk and you can walk 200 meters to pick it up at the port. All of the restaurants in town are amazing. Hotel Nostos was the highlight of our trip. It was the best place that we stayed at.Guest review bydavidUnited States

I liked that Vathi is a real town as well as a tourist town.
I liked that Vathi is a real town as well as a tourist town. There are however lots of restaurants and coffee bars, many catering for the boating community, as this is a popular stopping place for people cruising round the Ionian on small to bigger boats. Everywhere within Vathi is very walkable. I found it a bit restricted as a starting point for a solo traveller, as there are no buses, and the tours of historical/mythical sites are private and very expensive for one or two people.Guest review byJudithUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Quite location around waterfront, that is closed to cars.
Quite location around waterfront, that is closed to cars. Lovely little coves to swim in. Very poor bus service so car or taxi required to get around. Taxi fare from Vathy very reasonable at 45 euros.Guest review byJudithUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Great location, away from congested major towns, fabulous swimming at Polis beach. Great sight seeing walks to the ruins of the Palace of Odysseus. Numerous tavernas at Stavros and the port of Frikes, either on foot or by car. Very relaxing place to stay.Guest review byAnastasisAustralia - 10.0
This was a most excellent destination.
This was a most excellent destination. Bakery on hand as was a mini market. Lovely beach nearby with free shade. Quaint tiny harbour to walk around in the evening. Bonus of a waterfront Dodoni cafe on the waterfrontGuest review byMgtWarnerUnited Kingdom - 10.0
We really loved our trip to Ithaca. Such a pretty Island.
We really loved our trip to Ithaca. Such a pretty Island. Only tiny but you need a car to visit everywhere. Kioni was really beautiful with nice restaurants. More to chose from in Vathi and if you like walking you can walk to two beaches from there .Guest review byEmmaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Kioni is pittoresque and romantic.
Kioni is pittoresque and romantic. Nice restaurants and bars ! Lovely port for yachts. Avra and Mythos were our favourite restaurants. The 2 beaches at the end of Kioni are just so beautiful, one with a small taverna.Guest review byBelinda MarinaAustria - 10.0
Lovely local village.
Lovely local village. Very friendly people and some great tavernas to choose from. Margarita's is the best cafe! There is also a small museum. Easy drive from here to local beaches. Also 10/15 min drive to Frikes and Kioni.Guest review byYvonneUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Frikes is an incredible little harbour - very friendly, great tavernas, beautiful beaches and a wonderful pier to jump off! We were one if few that didn't come on a yacht but we enjoyed it all the same! I'd return here in a heartbeat!!Guest review byLaraAustralia - 10.0
Gorgeous little town, with just incredible views.
Gorgeous little town, with just incredible views. We were there in October, ans despite two days of dull, slightly rainy weather, we found it very charming. Lots of little shops to explore - though some were very expensive, to be honest. We had some great food here - the small restaurant on the seafront, La Familia - was our highlight. Really delicious traditional food. So good I'm going to have to try some of the recipes at home. The boat tours had finished for the winter, but it was still possible to hire a boat, or even a boat with a skipper. Vathi is easy to walk around, it's small and compact, and feels very friendly. I can't say that it would be wheelchair friendly, as a lot of the footpaths have cafe tables and chairs etc.Guest review bySileIreland - 8.0

Frikes is a lovely place, but as we were getting towards the end of the season, and what with all the restrictions caused by Covid, 2 or 3 nights could have been better, with a 2 or 3 night hop at the other end of the island perhaps? Luckily, Aristotelis Apartments were so nice, it didn't matter, and we loved every minute of our stay. There are 3 nice, very small pebbly coves/beaches between Frikes and Kuoni. The water was so crystal clear you can see the bottom for quite a depth. Snorkelling was real fun. Lots of different fish. The little beaches each had a long stone built bench you could sit on. some of the bench would be partly shaded by trees. These beaches weren't serviced with showers, toilets or bars. But beautiful, with lovel views all the way to Lefkada and beyond.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom
