- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 147 reviewsThis place is simply paradise! The location is breathtaking – right on one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe with crystal-clear, shallow water that’s perfect for both snorkeling and children. Comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas are included, and food is served directly at the beach. They even have a bell at each sunbed to call for service – something I’ve never experienced anywhere else in Europe! The villa itself was a dream: spotless, spacious, very comfortable, and with a huge terrace equipped with loungers, a table, and chairs. Truly right on the beach – you can’t get any closer! The whole property feels peaceful and private. Yes, it’s a bit secluded and you’ll need a car, but honestly, we never wanted to leave the resort – everything we needed was right there. The host and the entire staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and spoke perfect English. The on-site restaurant and bar were excellent – delicious food, traditional and generous breakfast, and a wide range of drinks at the bar. Prices are a little higher, but it’s absolutely worth it because everything here is just perfect. Getting there was easy with the ferry from Lavrio/Athens, and the taxi service on the island worked seamlessly. All in all: a hidden gem where you can simply relax and just be, without countless restrictions or rules. We will definitely return – this is truly a paradise in Europe!Guest review bySophieGermany
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 96 reviewsHotel rooms had all the facilities we were looking for, plenty of space, good kitchenette, great shower etc. The location was quiet but close to the taverna, beach and ice cream shop. There were plenty of tables and chairs and sun loungers around the pool that you could use for shade, sunbathing, cocktails etc and the gardens were in full bloom. Lots of care has been taken over the indoor and outdoor space.Guest review byKellyUnited Kingdom

Although not the typical white-washed cycladic village, it is still a comfortable ferry port that turns into a pedestrian area once the last ferry is gone or parked for the night, giving the opportunity to families with small kids to enjoy the stroll. It is packed with cafeterias, cozy restaurants, music bars. It also has some nice shops, a pharmacy, travel agencies etc.Guest review byGEORGIOSBelgium - 10.0

We spent a week here with friends and it was absolutely perfect. The view from the infinity pool is incredible - watching the sunset over the Aegean Sea was unforgettable. The villa has everything you could want - spacious bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, and amazing outdoor spaces. The host was exceptional, really helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Every detail is perfectly thought out, from the luxury furnishings to the pool bar. The location in Koundouros is ideal - peaceful but close to beautiful beaches. This was more than just accommodation, it was a real experience. We're already planning to come back!Guest review byIakovosGreece - 10.0
Early september was great to stay a week!
Early september was great to stay a week! It wasn't busy since it was off-season and the 2, Otzias Kouzina and Taverna of Anna, are excellent places to eat and should be easily walkable from any of the places to stay in the area. Near the center and right side of the beach looking out to sea there is more sand and less stone so is better to swim at.Guest review byJimNetherlands - 10.0

You have to have a car to travel there because there are dirty roads with no public transport. Xyla beach is the most beautiful beach in the island, but you have to have your own umbrella or you have to pay 20-25 Eur per day if you want to have sunbeds and umbrella. There are not so many people like in other beaches of the island, so it is quite calm there during the day.Guest review byAnonymousLithuania - 10.0

A cosy family run hotel overlooking the beach and the port - we had a corner room with a balcony offering both views. A very good bed and mattress which we enjoyed after a whole day travelling and gave us a good night’s sleep! Breakfast was healthy and good with enough choice. The staff were friendly even at the end of the season - we were the last guests to leave and the hotel was closing down for the winter!Guest review byLilianaNetherlands - 8.0

We were staying a few twisty miles from the main town which is a very interesting place on a steep hill and with almost no traffic - the streets and alley ways are just too narrow. Although we were there at the end of the season there were still a few good restaurants openGuest review byScrimgeourUnited Kingdom - 8.0

It lacks character and a town centre with no shops and only one restaurant ,though there is plenty to do with transport with plenty of beaches in the area, as well as hikes- one leading to an ancient settlement behind a good beach.Guest review byScrimgeourUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Beautiful beach with many options to seat. on the left side the beach has some waves and on the opposite the water is extremely calm. you can rent a lounge chair with umbrella or just lay on your towel.Guest review byNIKOLAOSFrance - 4.0

Melissaki is an area on Kea island that has a few nice hotels and some really beautiful beaches. The road leading to Melissaki from the port and going around the area is a dirt road, however, which can get really bumpy for a typical vehicle and awfully tiring for a visitor who is trying to enjoy their vacation time there. Hence, it is an area to visit and not to stay at.Guest review byChristosGreece
