- From $629.03 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 168 reviewsThis was an oasis of a place. The most gorgeous hotel I have ever stayed in. From its history to the service to the seriously oppressive beauty of this place, it was almost too much to bear. The hotel is surrounded by nature and gorgeous greenery and so it smells incredible. I kept telling myself all my senses were overwhelmed. The rooms were quiet and the beds so comfortable. I slept so deeply and I normally have terrible insomnia... It was so hard to leave. Depressing actually. This place is like art came to live and you are living in it. Its beauty is captivating and warm. I loved the amazing hike you can do from the Arkady Monastery to the hotel. You can arrange with the hotel to be dropped off at monastery and then you hike back thru gorgeous paths and gorges. Breathtaking views and private. The staff at the hotel offered world class service and attention. They were wonderful and so easy to talk to and happy to assist with any request. The breakfast was a bounty of delicious fresh locally-sourced healthy foods. Overall, this was an unbelievable experience. This hotel should be in everyone’s bucket list. Thank you Kapsalianá for the most incredible experience.Guest review byFrancesPuerto Rico
- From $130.95 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 841 reviewsThe hotel offers All Inclusive package. There is lot of food options and the empty slots are re- filled quickly, even at short time before the end of meals. There are good options for snacks at the bar, including pizzas, giros, salads, cakes and ice-cream. There are hot and cold coffees served, including very good Greek frappe. The family apartments are actually duplex with sleeping part on the first floor. Every one also has its own table and chairs in-front and a pair of sunbeds. Extremely nice view and fresh air with light, very polite wind at the restaurant. All the staff were extremely polite and helpful. The shuttle is useful, on- the time. The beach with sunbeds is also a great value.Guest review byPetreNorth Macedonia
- From $475.86 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 600 reviewsBeautiful hotel right on the sea. The staff was so welcoming from the first moment, serving ice tea during checkin. The room was great- plush towels, very spacious, good amenities, complimentary wine and water. The private beach across the street is amazing and the true highlight for me!! You can reserve in advance a chosen luxurious sunbed (no fee for hotel guests) and there is a great selection of food and drinks (made at the hotel) that can be brought to you throughout the day. The hotel breakfast is really fantastic and having drinks watching the sunset is a great evening.Guest review byTiferetIsrael
- From $126.27 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 451 reviewsWe booked on short notice and were lucky to get a sea view room with a great size balcony. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and had a very comfortable bed. Bathroom had great water pressure and good sized modern shower. Easy walk into Plakias itself where there are many shops and tavernas to visit. There’s a small pebble beach directly in front of the hotel, which had stunning sunset views. Several other beaches are a short drive away. Nice breakfast in the garden area. We were traveling with our dog, and he was welcomed too. Would definitely stay here again!Guest review byTheresaUnited States
- From $149.54 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 800 reviewsThis is one of the best hotels I stayed at, and everything was absolutely perfect - from the staff welcoming us upon arrival to hotel's amenities and location. The staff were super helpful and answered all of our questions and requests (e.g., booking tours etc). The hotel is located very close to Rethymno's Old town (15 min walk) and there is a beach with sunbeds nearby (2 min walk). I've stayed in this hotel before and will return on my next trip to Crete!Guest review byFQ63Latvia

The city itself has everything you could ever need and more. prices are fair and its stunningly beautiful. A city can be beautiful and full of wonderful things to see and do, but its always the people that make your stay. i expected Tourist Fatigue by the time we went in September. But everyone we met was gracious helpful warm and kind.Guest review byColetteUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A very good base for very many superb beaches in southern Crete, with a nice beach within the town, some great shops and very good eating options both within the town and the surrounding villages. Not spoiled by mass tourism as many other places in the island, yet neither too remote and hard to reach. Just perfect.Guest review byANGELIKIGreece - 10.0

Adorable, quaint and full of charm. At night the village centre close the roads, bring out the tables and chairs and the streets are filled with the sights, smells and sounds of Cretan joy. One of the places I will miss the most and can’t wait to return too.Guest review byAnnastasia - 10.0

Great Cretan village -- has everything you need: pharmacy, bakeries, butcher, supermarket, many tavernas, great stores with Cretan art, pottery, olive wood, olive oil, spices, and so on. Our main. reason for visiting the area was because we were attending a wedding. I did find that Adelianos Kampos was located near to a lot of pick ups for tours around Crete to allow you to experience other areas around the island. Many places to eat around the area, but none that really stuck out for me that I would recommend. Just walk around the area because there is much to choose from.Guest review byBabetteUnited States - 8.0

I really like Platanes, it's not too far from the busy Rethymno centre and slightly more relaxed than being near the main areas, but still has nice restaurants and beach bars etc. and good access to main roads etc. if you like to get out and adventure without getting stuck in congestion, which can sometime be found neare to centre.Guest review byAlexUnited Kingdom - 10.0

People say not much there, but we felt it had everything there. Good supermarket, beach good as not spoiled by sun beds all over so you can actually see the beach. Several great bakeries and some good restaurants to choose from. Bus stop into city if needed.Guest review byJulieUnited Kingdom - 8.0

It's a quiet village with very friendly people and along the beach road you very quickly arrive at the next village that has a mini market and 3 or 4 tavernas. It's not for people looking for nightlife and shops. A car is needed to get there and to be able to go to bigger town with shops and other sights of interest. Our favourite places in Rodakino were Korakas beach cafe; Super market Zafeirakis where the lady was friendly and helpful and Nikos & Anna Taverna. Just a little further away the taverna at Peristeres beach is definitely my favourite place to eat.Guest review byTemplar - 8.0

A beautiful old town with lots and lots of little streets full of beautiful shops and an array of restaurants. Lots to do, lots to see and many different trips and excursions to be had from this location. Streets are very clean, locals very pleasant (apart from the bus drivers......... rude and abrupt). Sunbeds tend to be expensive - 15 euros a day per person. Overall it's well worth a visit.Guest review byKimboUnited Kingdom
