When I checked in, I asked for some information about the massage. The receptionist remembered my request and introduced the masseuse to me while I was at the café. In the evening, he still remembered my room number when we went to have dinner - exceptionally professional! The room was clean and comfortable, the spa was enjoyable and super clean! There are restaurants around the hotel, the town centre is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The food (we had breakfast and dinner) was amazing, we could choose from a big variety of dishes, and the coffee was amazing! We went there by car; the hotel has its own big car park, it's safe and only the hotel guests have access to it by using a card which opens the gate. There are different facilities for small children, the best is the bouncy inflatable castle. The garden is well maintained, the pool’s temperature was perfect. The rooms were clean, it had every basic equipment in the kitchen that we needed for a few days. There are some rules that the owner kindly asked us to follow and to respect the others who stayed at the property. The owner was nice, flexible with our groups arrival, and even gave us the keys in advance. If you looking for a place where you can relax for a great price, it’s perfect. It's a nice place where you can spend a great holiday. You have a lot of bike lanes to ride on. The lake is usually nice but sometimes it can be really muddy. I found service in Balatonfüred uneven. The low point was restaurant Il Lago at the lakefront: despite looking inviting, the service felt dismissive and the prices were high for what we received. To me, Pécs was a very positive surprise.
To me, Pécs was a very positive surprise. When deciding to stop there for a rest day on a 3 week motorcycle trip around Europe, I was hoping for some urban area where I would not get bored the first hour. With no research before arriving, we went for dinner the first night, and happened upon an outdoor restaurant in the castle ruins. On the surface it looked like a tourist trap, but food, service and pricing was great. The next day we went for a walk, again without much research and explored the center of the city, a very beautiful and historically important area as we learned. We had great food in some of the many restaurants, and we visited the UNESCO Heritage ruin as well as the basilica / cathedral. All in all, I am impressed.Guest review byKaiNorway
