Amazing new place, with everything you can think of to keep you and your kids busy and happy on your holiday. Excellent breakfast and dinner, very nice - big Spa area, which didn’t get overcrowded even on a rainy day. It’s a pleasure to write this review cause we are already not the first time here and guess what? It became even better and all our small comments from last time got improved! So thumbs up for the management to be that attentive to guests needs and open mindedness to change old approach. To summarize it all: 1. Spotless 2. All was very satisfactory. Good value for money and well located for the main attractions. Had a nice stay. Saunas, steam bath and relaxation area was great. Dinner and breakfast was perfect. This was a return trip for us and Lotus Hotel never disappoints. Service was excellent, facilities amazing, with super clean pools, saubas and rooms, great food, and altogether, a very relaxed atmosphere. The beautiful town of Heviz is only 2 km away so we took early morning walks to the town and had out first coffee there. As a bonus, there is a litttle show every night at the hotel and some of the performers are fantastic. All in all, a memorable holiday! We shall return!

It was a nice little hotel we used for one night on our trip. What impressed us was the attitude of the receptionist on arrival. He had a professional, friendly approach, and he showed us everything personally - breakfast restaurant, room, air conditioning controls. Everything in the accommodation, having been refurbished by the hotel, is clean, fragrant, pleasant, meticulously cleaned and functional, with recommendations for guests, very comfortable beds, including pillows, and stylish accessories on the walls depicting local attractions - museums. The selection of breakfast food is appropriate to the size of the hotel, hence the number of guests, and the excellent small pastries. We left feeling that we had rested overnight and were well looked after by the friendly staff.

    Quiet small town, very clean and well presented, plenty of parks, flower beds and central object - great thermal warm lake. We did not find ANY supermarket though... Lol. Only small shops to buy wine and chocolates.

    There is nothing to see, just Balaton lake. But, for us that was the reason to come since we wanted to avoid any outside activities. Just wanted to do be in the hotel and enjoy in SPA! Will come back for sure!

    Zalakaros is a small, cozy town that’s both beautiful and impeccably maintained. It’s the kind of place you just want to stay and soak in; there’s a charming, relaxed vibe with everyone in vacation mode, enjoying the moment without a rush. The resort-town atmosphere is delightful, and every corner feels inviting and peaceful.

    It was surprising how little is open on a Saturday afternoon, but a lot of the things are within walking distance from the centre which is nice. We didn't like the lack of bilinguality - there were no signs in English (as a 2nd language), we couldn't really find a place to drink/eat that would have English menus and we found very, very little people who spoke English.

    We visited in November so it was cold weather (luckily it was dry). There are some good restaurants and coffee/cake shops nearby the hotel and reasonably priced. We visited the cemetery to find the grave of a relative of ours who had recently died. The cemetery was FULL of flowers which had been placed on the graves on 1st November (All Saints Day)... I have never seen such a colourful cemetery. Interestingly there are military graves of Hungarians (First World War) and Germans and Russians (mostly March and April 1945)... they are all well kept. On Sunday mornings there is a large car boot type sale at the rear of the covered market... worth a look. The indoor market is only open on mornings. It is well attended by locals buying fruit, vegetables and meat but also enjoying a drink, a pastry or a cooked sausage with bread etc. It was too cold to walk about too much. I would not recommend arriving by train as the station is outside the centre and there are no taxis there. The coach station is busy, located right in the centre of town and there are usually two or three taxis at the nearby rank. We came and went via coach from Budapest. About £15 per person each way. It is a good reliable service. Zalakaros (a spa town about ten miles away) is worth a visit if you enjoy hot water leisure facilities... it is famous for it... the Americans drilled for oil but found water at almost boiling point... they reckon the town has earned more from hot water than it ever could have from oil!

    The ideal place for golfers, lovers of thermal baths, spas and wellness, and good food and wine. Zala Springs is ranked the no.1 golf course in Hungary and is literary over the road. The other two interesting courses are in a range of 90 min driving.

    The hotel platinsee is outstanding so that is the primary reason we keep coming back! Vonyarcvashegy is a lovely suburb not far from keszthely. There are numerous restaurants and bars in walking distance Lake balaton is a very short walk from platinsee. And a leisure/lido on the lake is about 10-12 minutes walk. The lido has safe swimming and abundant sunbathing spots as well as snack bars and restaurants. It is also very inexpensive to spend the day there .

    Diási Játékstrand beach is an excellent place for the family with equipment for various sports, a large children's playground and sand. In Gyenesdias you can find everything you need for your vacation. There is a train station in the village and a port nearby. There are cycle paths all around Lake Balaton, so you can plan a lot of trips there. Trip tip: by train to Tapolca and back by bike via Szigliget Castle.

    As it was still cold, some outside pools were closed, but outside there were three thermal pools, one for swimming, one thermal bath and one hydro massage. We loved it. Amazing place to regenerate yourself. Sauna offers four different saunas - steam, 50, 70 and 90 degrees. At every two hours there is a lady doing a sauna procedure - registration required half an hour before. One cold pool and one jacuzzi is available. Great value for money, highly recommended.

    The main building in lake was closed for reconstruction and the lake was tooo cold for me. It should have been warmer at the end of September. It looks like the reconstruction will go forever because iI dod not see any workers. It is too cold to stay out of the main building. And they do not even give a discount. Should have gone to Budapest instead,
