Gus O'Connor's in Doolin is a top notch restaurant.
Gus O'Connor's in Doolin is a top notch restaurant. The Aran Islands are a hop, skip and a jump via the Doolin Ferry and e-bike and standard bike rentals are fast and easy once you land on the islands. There are grocery stores in nearby Ennistymon 15-20 minutes by car. Fanore---20 minutes to the north---is home of the Caher Valley Loop Walking Trail. One loop is about 9 miles...the other about 10-11 miles. Spectacular views...worth the steep climb! Kilkee---about an hour to the south---has a wonderful Cliff Walk that offers views as good as the Cliffs of Moher.Guest review byDavidUnited States - 10.0
Ennis is a really nice town to visit.
Ennis is a really nice town to visit. There's a nice atmosphere to the place. Even though the whole of the centre was being dug up for improvements it was still really interesting to walk around. The bars were great. Good music and never closed if you were still drinking, it seemed.Guest review byMalcolm - 10.0

Fabulous beach, nice little shops even though a lot of them don't open until 11 am, maybe that's only when the.summer months are over, people there very friendly, Lahinch is a lovely spot to visit for a few days, and if there, make sure you drive out to Kilkee and visit the Kilkee cliffs, absoloutely stunningGuest review byLizIreland - 10.0

A great little village with several places to eat and drink and the beautiful Bunratty castle and Folk park to visit. I highly recommend the Creamery and Durty Nelly's, I didn't eat anywhere else as we ran out of time. Bunratty is a great location to visit so many places. You can park and access it so easily off the N18 and be on your way. We went to the Cliffs of Moher and Lehinch and stayed a night in Limerick though if I did it again I would have stayed at The Courtyard B&B in Bunratty for the two nights, it was lovely.Guest review byElizabethUnited Kingdom - 2.0

The room was freezing (as we're others) , the staff unhelpful and an unapologetic manager. Couldn't manage to get my rewards without multiple visits to reception (at least two other guests gave up) and got slapped by a 25euro charge for checking in an hour early .Guest review bySenanGreece - 10.0

Killaloe / Ballina is a beautiful twin town spanning the river Shannon. Great river walks, the old road bridge is now pedestrianised making it easy to go from the Ballina to the Killaloe side and vice versa. There's a variety of restaurants, coffee shops and pubs with indoor and outdoor areas. The Lakeside Hotel Killaloe (on the Ballina side) serves excellent food and drinks. Avoid the Bóruna Gastro Pub for now, it's dirty and the service is poor, could be great with it's rooftop bar but needs a refresh of the property and attitudes. Tuscany Bistro on the Ballina side serves excellent food in with great service Raw Interiors serves great food and coffee on the Killaloe side quirky building and great serviceGuest review bySeanIreland - 10.0
I loved how quiet, simple, and rugged the landscape is.
I loved how quiet, simple, and rugged the landscape is. Milltown Malbay is perfectly gentle, sweet, and wonderful to explore for a day or two. The swimming is wild and next level Irish. The Cliffs of Kilkee are just as miraculous as the Cliffs of Moher, and free.Guest review byChristyUnited States - 8.0

It has great potential but over the last few years it has disimproved. It used to be much more buzzy, with many more shops and venues open. Still, it is close to so many lovely places to swim and walk. Monks was ok, we got shunted out of table as bigger group was coming in, and the food was just ok. Went to brillant old bar, O Laughlinns I think. Great, packed, lovely atmosphere, atmospheric, but nearly had a heart attach at the price of two very good whiskeys. Couldnt do this too often. Far less tourists around, I wonder why?Guest review bymaryIreland - 10.0
Liscannor is a beautiful city with many great views.
Liscannor is a beautiful city with many great views. The coast is incredible and the people are so friendly. The Cliffs of Moher are another amazing plus. Saint Brigids’s well os nearby and was an interesting stop as well. We ate lunch at the Frantic Chef and dinner in Doolin nearby at Gus O’Conners- both of which we’re delicious!Guest review byTysonUnited States - 8.0

We didn't spend much time in Kilkee as it was just a base for visiting friends and family nearby, but we did walk on the beach and did most of the cliff walk. It's a good base for exploring the Loop Head peninsula too, but we did that on a previous visit. I would definitely stay there again, although not in the same apartments.Guest review byRogerUnited Kingdom
