The staff was beyond helpful. I had a large group arriving at different times, and they got us all sorted with good humor and efficiency. The staff at reception was helpful and knowledgeable when we needed directions, had lost items, needed taxis, etc. They always had smiles to welcome us and went out of their way to smooth over the very few little issues that arose. The bar staff and housekeeping were was also terrific. The location couldn't be better. We walked almost everywhere. Very pleased with everything about the Chancery.

Loved staying at this place! Front desk staff were so kind and helpful. We stayed there as part of our honeymoon, and they left chocolates and a lovely note for us. There is free laundry on site and a kitchenette inside of the room that was very convenient. The bed was comfortable and the TV and wifi worked well.

Room very clean, modern and well furnished. Spacious and comfy beds. Toiletries provided are from a nice, trendy brand. Convenient location to reach the downtown (Temple Bar, Trinity College, Christ Church and St. Patrick Cathedral are only 20mins walking distance). Very silent hotel. Bathroom had a big comfy shower. The rooms were very well appointed: lots of power outlets, lots of storage spaces, robes and slippers, excellent shower, etc. The bed was very comfortable. The gym was better equipped than most typical hotel gyms. Staff was very helpful. It was nice to be able to get tea, coffee or a drink in the spacious lobby. While it is a bit out of the centre, it is right on the #16 bus route directly from the airport. A tram line is not far. Lots of restaurants and pubs nearby, It's also an easy walk to St. Stephen's Green and the Grafton Street area. The breakfast is very good, and one does not have to order the Full Irish: the Continental is half the price and offers a great spread of breads, meats and cheeses, fruit, cereals and yoghurt. Given the quality of this hotel, the room rates are an exceptionally good value for Dublin.

Airport coach stops right outside, and the Luas (tram) stops are also VERY convenient. Cinema just a few doors away for when the weather caves in! Great location. One of THE BEST BREAKFASTS ever. A wonderful selection of hot and cold foods, with plenty of fruit and other options (including helpful staff) for plant-based eaters. You feel welcomed and coddled from the minute you step foot inside. Exemplary staff and very visible senior managers ensuring high standards. Lovely to sit in the beautifully decorated foyer and bar area for a cuppa, drink, snack and a catch-up before heading out again. Happy to store luggage after check-out until you are ready to leave the city. Spotless rooms and a good shower. The noon check-out time is also a huge plus. All in all, this was so good that when we went back to pick up our bags and were having a pre-travel drink, we decided to stay another night! We hope to have the opportunity to be back in the future and highly recommend a stay here :-) [week before Christmas 2024]

Right from we arrived we had a great experience. Liam met us at the gates as the Women's Irish Open was on- he was jovial & chatty. Konstantina at reception was lovely, quickly checking all details & explaining a few things. Our room was lovely with a huge tv & a bath & shower in a good sized bathroom. We had our evening meal in Kathleen's Kitchen- a unique location...the old kitchen was great. The staff were lovely & helpful...the food, all 3 courses divine! We received a complimentary champers for our anniversary. Breakfast was also excellent back in Kathleen's Kitchen. We used the pool, jacuzzi & steam room in the spa. Despite the golf competition the atmosphere was relaxed & in fact we used our complimentary tickets to watch a bit & we went on the red & yellow walks around the grounds.

There is loads to see and do in Dublin.

There is loads to see and do in Dublin. We went to celebrate a friends 40th so most of it was spent exploring the local, cosy pubs for a good pint of Guinness and traditional music. The nightlife in Dublin is amazing, Temple Bar is good to see for one but as everyone says it is geared up for tourist and you pay accordingly. You only have to venture a few streets back to find the lively bars where the locals go, and pay a much more reasonable price for a drink. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, our friend had a birthday badge on and everywhere we went he got offered a birthday pint by a stranger.

Kilkenny is a lovely small city right on a river. We recommend taking advantage of a good walking tour. We did, and it was a perfect way to spend two hours on a sunny morning. Our guide was superb, filling us in on the history of the city with interesting and humorous stories. The castle is an excellent representation of “castles” in general, and we recommend taking the time to tour the castle. There is a very nice cafeteria/restaurant in the old Royal Stable right across from the front entrance to the castle; the food was good and the setting is wonderful.

Wexford town was lovely to stroll around, we dined in two lovely restaurants with top quality food and exceptional service. I found people genuinely friendly and helpful throughout and happy to engage and recommend where to go over the weekend. We hit upon some great live music with David Clarke and Charles Byrd in Maggie Mays definitely worth a mention, and managed a sea swim in beautiful curracloe to top it all off.

If you are looking for cutting-edge city life, this is not for you. Dundalk is a former railway town, largely built round the (now defunct) works for the GNRI and with much 19th century red-brick architecture. It has a busy high street with a lot of small shops, pubs and restaurants, none are grand, it reminds me of similar towns in the UK before planning blight took hold. A lot of effort seems to have gone into smartening the place up in recent years, which is nice. Would that other towns of its scale have survived so well it would be nothing exceptional, but as so few have, it has a real charm. As a base, it is well sited to explore the countryside around, which has a long and interesting history, with a lot of historic sites.
