FAQs about hotels in Amalfi Coast
A Feast For the Eyes
Comprised of brightly coloured villages cascading down sheer cliffs, the Amalfi Coast is on the opposite side of a peninsula from Sorrento. Between the UNESCO World Heritage-listed villages are lemon groves and winding roads hugging the coastline that are definitely not for the nervous driver!
In wonderful Positano, delicately positioned houses somehow manage to cling to the cliffs. The next village along is Praiano, on a flatter piece of land and with a 12th-century church. Furore in the hills above a fjord has its own winery.
Amalfi itself is picturesque, as it rises from the harbour to the top of its 13th-century cathedral. As the coast’s largest town, it has a good selection of bars, restaurants and accommodation. Adjoining it is Atrani, a fishing village with a dramatic, beachside road supported by arches.
High above is Ravello whose Villa Rufolo’s landscaped gardens offer magnificent panoramas of the coastline below. Due to its position, this town boasts the Amalfi Coast hotels with the best views and, of course, prices to match. Back at sea level Minori and Maiori have the longest beaches.
Due of all this splendor, you might struggle to find cheap Amalfi Coast hotels, but there is also a selection of affordable apartments and B&Bs on Booking.com, and in any case the fantastic views makes the price well worth it.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 241 reviewsA stunning hotel, located a few hundred meters from the busy center of Amalfi, the view from the hotel is like the most beautiful painting, we got a very beautiful room, full of stylish lamps and accessories, with an amazing view. The hotel has its own beach, which is not common on the Amalfi Coast, you can spend a day right by the sea. The hotel has two restaurants, including one right next to the beach, the Amalfi and sea view from the restaurant is amazing. Excellent breakfasts, service, everything. There is also a small souvenir shop and very beautiful handmade jewelry. Amazing place!Guest review byEwaPoland

Sorrento was the place we loved the most in Amalfi.
Sorrento was the place we loved the most in Amalfi. Everywhere in Amalfi is absolutely scenic but the number of tourists can be over whelming at times as you have to queue up for a very long time for local buses and ferries etc...Guest review byMahendraSri Lanka - 10
Love Positano, our second time visiting.
Love Positano, our second time visiting. However, very crowded in September and can be overwhelming. Great place for a few days, especially when planning to explore nearby towns, including Capri. One of our favorite restaurants that we returned to on this trip, which is still incredible is Donna Rosa, which is just up the hill from Positano.Guest review byLeslieSUnited States - 10
Maiori is lovely, spread out and calm.
Maiori is lovely, spread out and calm. There are plenty of shops to poke about in and even more restaurants and gelato places to sample. We loved the cleanliness and safety of the sidewalks. It felt spacious.Guest review bySandraCanada - 10
Ravello is fantastic. So quiet - much preferable to Amalfi.
Ravello is fantastic. So quiet - much preferable to Amalfi. Steep. Lots of walking. A lovely village by night with some great food. Mimis is just a fantastic restaurant with excellent an menu and wonderful staff. The meals are amazing! Several small shops which have all required if self catering. Walk the back streets. Such a photogenic town. Really pleasant in evenings when many return to Amalfi or to ferries.Guest review byJezAustralia - 8.0
Agerola provides an escape from the tourist busy towns on...
Agerola provides an escape from the tourist busy towns on the Amalfi coast. It is higher in elevation than the towns of Amalfi, Positano and Maiori. These towns are port towns and in the busy travel months are always full of tourists. However, there is more to do in these towns than in Agerola, and if you plan to only stay in one of those towns, only go between 2 close towns, spend your vacation time on the beach, then I would recommend to stay in one of the coast towns. If you want a more central point to all of these and other towns (ex. Sorrento, Ravello, etc...) and plan to travel each day to a new town and a quiet place to rest at night, then Agerola is a great place to stay. If you stay in Agerola and since the roads are one lane both ways, you have to factor in travel times to all other towns (in case you need to catch a ferry, have dinner reservations, etc...).Guest review byHarryUnited States - 8.0

Lots of ceramic shops selling almost the same items. many good restaurants within walking distance. Arrive by train then take the accensore (elevator) down to the town - the lift-well is lined with blue tiles and fish. Gorgeous. The ferry stops down at the bay and bus 68 takes you up to the town for 1.4euro. Buy the ticket from the ladies in the ceramic shop near the bus stop before you board and validate on the bus.Guest review byPamelaAustralia - 6.0
Praiano is a great location to stay in the Amalfi coast for...
Praiano is a great location to stay in the Amalfi coast for viewing spectacular sunrises & sunsets, and if you want to avoid the crazy crowds in Amalfi & Positano as it is sandwiched between these two major tourist destinations in the Amalfi Coast. It is much cheaper to stay in Praiano, but relying on Public transportation is a real hardship if you don’t have a car or bike/scooter. For that reason, Maiori and Minori are much better locations that provide the same calm, affordability and easy access as Praiano. There are also some very restaurants in these 3 towns.Guest review byPrakashUnited States - 10
Minori is the perfect town to explore the Amalfi coast from.
Minori is the perfect town to explore the Amalfi coast from. It’s quiet with a nice beach and enough restaurants including a famous pastry shop. Lines for ferries are minimal. The path of lemons was stunning and we also took a taxi to Ravello and walked down to Atrani and Amalfi and then ferried home. Both these walks were beautiful. Even in October, Positano and Amalfi were crazy busy and heading back to Minori was a relief!Guest review byLesley - 10
Perfect location for exploring the Amalfi Coast.
Perfect location for exploring the Amalfi Coast. Half an hour driving to Amalfi, half an hour driving to Positano. For hiking the "Path of gods" you start immediately at the residence. For getting to the "Fiordo" you descend the one thousand stairs just below the apartment. Small market shop and minimarket just near by. Also very good restaurants just near the house. Peaceful and quiet—perfect for a relaxing vacation.
Peaceful and quiet—perfect for a relaxing vacation. There are plenty of good restaurants and enough markets for everyday needs. The area also offers great historical sites to explore, along with the beautiful Valle delle Ferriere nature park nearby. A convenient bus stop with frequent service makes it easy to get around the area without a car.Guest review byNemanjaSerbia
