FAQs about hotels in Amalfi Coast
A Feast For the Eyes
Comprised of brightly coloured villages cascading down sheer cliffs, the Amalfi Coast is on the opposite side of a peninsula from Sorrento. Between the UNESCO World Heritage-listed villages are lemon groves and winding roads hugging the coastline that are definitely not for the nervous driver!
In wonderful Positano, delicately positioned houses somehow manage to cling to the cliffs. The next village along is Praiano, on a flatter piece of land and with a 12th-century church. Furore in the hills above a fjord has its own winery.
Amalfi itself is picturesque, as it rises from the harbour to the top of its 13th-century cathedral. As the coast’s largest town, it has a good selection of bars, restaurants and accommodation. Adjoining it is Atrani, a fishing village with a dramatic, beachside road supported by arches.
High above is Ravello whose Villa Rufolo’s landscaped gardens offer magnificent panoramas of the coastline below. Due to its position, this town boasts the Amalfi Coast hotels with the best views and, of course, prices to match. Back at sea level Minori and Maiori have the longest beaches.
Due of all this splendor, you might struggle to find cheap Amalfi Coast hotels, but there is also a selection of affordable apartments and B&Bs on Booking.com, and in any case the fantastic views makes the price well worth it.

- From US$439.38 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 280 reviewsFirstly, I will start with the staff. They are very helpful and respectful. The food is amazing. As for the room, I think it is one of the best rooms I have had in Amalfi. I have been there for six times and it is very clean and cozy. The hotel's attention to detail is outstanding, from the beautifully arranged flowers in the lobby to the personalized welcome note in my room. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels comfortable and well taken care of. The meals at the hotel's restaurant are a culinary delight, with a wide range of delicious dishes to choose from. The chef's expertise is evident in every bite, and the attentive waitstaff makes dining here a truly enjoyable experience. The room itself is a haven of tranquility, with plush bedding, tasteful decor, and all the amenities one could need. The attention to cleanliness is commendable, as the room is always spotless and fresh. Overall, my experience at this hotel has been nothing short of exceptional, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly memorable stay in Amalfi.Guest review byConstantinRomania
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 443 reviewsPerfect location to explore the Amalfi Coast and to have relaxing days at the sea at the same time. The hotel is placed on a very green rock between Amalfi and Positano. The bus stop is only 1 minute walk and it's next to the famous Fjord of Furore which couldn't n be more close to the hotel. The breakfast is very good, with different homemade sweets, small pizzas, scrambled eggs and very nice coffee. The hotel has a private beach area and you can jump directly into the sea! The staff makes you feel like at home. Many thanks to the owner Luigi, to Luigi the second :), Salvatore and Erica!Guest review byIVA STOYANOVABulgaria
- From US$346.24 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 691 reviewsFood was fantastic. The chicken Caesar salad was the best my wife ever tasted for lunch. My tuna was as good as the best I've ever had also. Waiting staff were all excellent. Wine was delicious also and Domenico the barman was exceptional. Big thank you to the night porter who found my wife's bracelet left on the bar balcony and safely returned it to us. We did not get a chance to thank him personally before we left. Grazie mille.Guest review byConorIreland

- From US$189.80 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 544 reviewsBreakfast was included and was great! Our own private beach for our hotel was great as the other beaches on the Amalfi were very crowded. Rooms were great. Spa was great! Main restaurant had fantastic food, but no simple lunch menu, same one for dinner as well. Only a Short 5-10 Min walk to the closest town for many other restaurant options and little shops.Guest review byTabCanada

Positano is a total zoo!!!
Positano is a total zoo!!! The alleys are jam-packed with people and lined with shops selling tourist junk. The roads are extremely curvy and hazardous to walk on (shoulders are about 6" wide). Every time I tried to take a bus there were about 4 busloads of people waiting and it was a battle to get on.Guest review byStaciaUnited States - 10.0

The small town feel of Agerola was great as we arrived from Rome which was really chaotic Loved the rooms. Better if there was an elevator for those staying in the upper storeys. Love the breakfast. Better if more helpers rather than just the 1 person who was overwhelmed by the needs of everyone. Value for the money no equal. Was the best deal in our Italy tourGuest review byJazminUnited States - 10.0

Ravello is great for a small group who want a relaxed experience focused around good, scenery, and history. Be warmed there's lots of stairs, the bus isn't always easy to get, and prices can be a bit higher than other towns. There is almost no crazy traffic though, and every view is better than the last. An amazing experience.Guest review byrobertUnited States - 8.0

Lots of ceramic shops selling almost the same items. many good restaurants within walking distance. Arrive by train then take the accensore (elevator) down to the town - the lift-well is lined with blue tiles and fish. Gorgeous. The ferry stops down at the bay and bus 68 takes you up to the town for 1.4euro. Buy the ticket from the ladies in the ceramic shop near the bus stop before you board and validate on the bus.Guest review byPamelaAustralia - 8.0

Furore is around 15km from amalfi, sounds close but in reality due to the winding roads it takes around 25 minutes in a car/bus Furore is quite spread out so you need to take that in to account when staying there. Car/moped is the best method of transport followed by the bus, walking is an option but be prepared for many steep hills. This is a perfect base to get into amalfi, but be aware that parking in amalfi itself is challenging and the police/car towing companies are red hot!Guest review byMARKUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Peaceful and quiet—perfect for a relaxing vacation. There are plenty of good restaurants and enough markets for everyday needs. The area also offers great historical sites to explore, along with the beautiful Valle delle Ferriere nature park nearby. A convenient bus stop with frequent service makes it easy to get around the area without a car.Guest review byNemanjaSerbia
