The hotel is extremely comfortable and cozy! The guys at the reception are simply beyond praise. Always friendly and positive, ready to help on any issue. They checked us in and checked us out in a couple of minutes. The room is equipped with a small refrigerator, safe, air conditioning and a furnished balcony. The room itself was clean and the daily cleaning made it even cleaner. Also the cleaning staff are very friendly. The shower cabin is spacious and comfortable. You can open the window in the bathroom. Breakfast is varied - eggs every day, some meat, lots of pastries, cheese, sausage, yoghurt, fruits and vegetables. Lots of cold and hot drinks. It's literally 10 minutes to the beach at a leisurely pace. There are hundreds of restaurants and a bus stop nearby. The central train station and bus to San Marino are a 15-minute walk away. The rooftop pool is clean and there are enough sun beds and umbrellas. The guy from the pool bar fought a seagull when he saw it trying to get things out of our bag! Special thanks to him I don’t remember when I received such high consideration. Perhaps only in hotels of the Hyatt level. We will definitely come back here again and again.

I loved Bologna.

I loved Bologna. The food at all of the restaurants was incredible - best of our trip - except for the little restaurant in Santa Margherita Ligure which was just as good. We were based in Florence and took a quick train to Bologna for two nights. If i had to do it over I would have made Bologna the base. Bologna was way less crowded, clean, lots of daylight and much more nature that was accessible. The little tourist train ride up the mountain to the monastery was one of my favorite days of our three week trip to France and Italy. It was a beautiful day and there were plenty of benches to sit on in the sun (or shade) to sip some water and bask.

Rimini is a cozy and romantic beach town.

Rimini is a cozy and romantic beach town. It's good to stay somewhere on the periphery and not right down town. Downtown is very lovely and lively at night. Rimini runs shuttles to San Marino daily and that was why I went there but I'm glad that I stayed. It's a great place to stay for 2-3 days and ride a bike around town.

Riccione is a very cool town, ideal if you're looking for a vacation where relaxation and fun take center stage. It may not boast the historical past of Rimini (which dates back to Roman times), but it’s packed with high-end shops, great restaurants, cinemas, and more — so you won’t have any trouble finding something interesting to do. This year, the municipality launched an International Festival dedicated to TV series, with a program featuring premieres and interviews with famous screenwriters, directors, and actors. If you're a night owl, you can spend the night in one of the many clubs nestled in the surrounding hills.

Ravenna is captivating.

Ravenna is captivating. It is a city with an unexpected history as the capital of the western empire. It also has remains of ta deep theological struggle which gripped the Church in the early fourth century - the arian heresy. There are excellent museums with stunning paleochristian artifacts - it is a treasure trove of insights and beauty into the transition from imperial roman to christian rome.

The main piazza in Piacenza is striking, and staff in the Tourist office there are helpful. The streets contain a wide range of historical architecture and are pleasant to wander round. The city has three Fine Art Galleries, but each has just one good/great painting (Antonello da Messina, Botticelli, Klimt); when I was there, the supposed Contemporary Gallery was filled with the work of a 19th Century artist. The Cathedral is majestic, and has successfully resisted the bacillus of Baroque, to which so many historic churches in Italy succumbed. The church of S Agostino is owned by a commercial gallery with interesting examples of 20th Century design.
