- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 871 reviewsThe hotel is beautiful and offers excellent wellness facilities. The rooms are a bit simple for a 4-star hotel, but this is quite common in Italy. Still, they have everything you need, and the bed was very comfortable! The hotel’s private parking lot was very convenient — we always found a space for our car. There are nice restaurants and bars within walking distance, and the meeting point for Etna tours is just a short 20-minute drive away. Overall, a great stay!Guest review byJohannaGermany

A lively and busy beautiful seaside town with lovely shops and alleyways full of cute restaurants. Beautiful historic buildings. Italian Opera shows. Easy to walk around the town then take cable car down to beach. Our apartment was right in the old town so the last 5 min of travel was on foot with luggage.Guest review byDonaldAustralia - 10.0

Alot of people do not speak english, and everything there including street sign are in ilalian. Had an excustion to the godfather on a hop on hop off bus(green) I had ordered from Get Your Guide and went 2 hours early and the direction they gave us was wrong and couldnt find the place for pick up in mountain. Had no wifi on my phone, even when i paid extra to get itWIFI on my phone. Tried to ask people but on one knew where to go. Traffic was terrible where the address was to pick up. So i ended up not making the excurion, and company is not giving me a refund. Also the rest RISTORANTE SABBIE D' ORO charged us $162.00(euro) for a 1 lobster. They stood over us until we order, couldnt speak english and the menu said 18 euros for a one lobster, thought that was a good price. Pressed us with extra stuff we did not want to order, because we could not understand them. Then we go to pay there system was down and couldnt take no visa or MC. Our bill was $350 eros. We had to go to atm machine and they charged us $75 to take money out of machine. BAD EXPERINCE!!!!!! I would suggest not to go there.Guest review byCindyUnited States - 8.0

The town is wonderful and filled with history. we where lucky enough to visit during their carnival, which is something special especially with children. Even the locals are wonderful, mornings in the piazza's are like from a movie, time moving slowly and everyone talking to each other over a coffee. I loved it and looking forward to visit again.Guest review byAdrianMalta - 8.0
A very nice town, I particularly like the climate, not hot,...
A very nice town, I particularly like the climate, not hot, humid but not too humid. Many options to walk, eat etc. Very close to Aetna and Catania. I do have to want though that Italians in Sicily (don't know about the rest of Italy) are complete Gypsies! They will try to take your money using any trick they can think of! They make you pay for parking (e.g. in Palermo) and for toilets! When you sit in a restaurant or café, they charge you for the service - and if you just take away, they charge you again! In the airport with Ryanair, they made us pay 46 euro to carry the same suitcase we have been carrying in Ryanair from any other destination for free, including the flight to reach Sicily! Ancient Greek spots are too expensive - more than 10 euros each, more expensive than the Acropolis! To visit Aetna's peak with a guide needs 120 euros per person, plus another 55 if you want to see some extra landforms! So be prepared to experience the worst driving behaviour, illegal driving and road network conditions I've seen in all countries I've been to so far! Full of useless roundabouts, signs don't exist in English anywhere, and the network is too confusing for a first timer, even if he is Italian.Guest review byΕυάγγελοςGreece - 8.0

This is a nice little town on the slopes of Etna and is especially convenient for visiting the Volcano. It is also close to the eastern coast of Sicily and its beaches whilst various tourist attractions are nearby. A car is almost essential though as public transport from the town is only by bus.Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Catania is only 15-20 minutes drive by car, depending on the traffic. Acitrezza was peacefull and we found the locals very kind, friendly and open hearted people. We dined well at Tratoria da Federico where we had delicious oysters fresh from local waters. Unfortunatelly there is no posibility to walk alongside the sea more than a few hundred meters.Guest review byDarjaCroatia - 4.0

This is a nice hotel with very friendly staff but located in a residential area that had seen better days. All the beaches had volcanic sand which isn't pleasant to walk on or lay on. The sea was quite rough and you would have to be a very confident swimmer to enter the water.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Aci Castello (AC) is located a 15 minute drive from central Catania and therefore is out of the fray, as we say. The AC promenade has stunning scenery and south of AC is home to many lidos i.e., beach resorts. AC is close to Catania City Center, Mt. Etna and Taormina, three must-see attractions. You will need to rent a car or motor scooter as there looked to be very little public transportation in the AC area.Guest review byPeterUnited States - 10.0

Giarre and neighbouring Riposto are unspoilt small towns with few tourists. We were the only foreigners wherever we ate. La Tavernetta was our favourite. The seafood market in Riposto was a perfect source for the meals we cooked in our suite. Driving in Sicily is fun as long as you copy the locals. Use Apple maps for navigation - Google maps was useless.Guest review byDuncanUnited Kingdom
