I was able to fully experience Italian culture and food, and the hotel staff, especially Roberto, were friendly and kind. It was close to the train station and ferry station, so it was easy to get around.

The hotel is in a very peaceful location on the lake, well away from the big crowds that you’d find in Como. Christina greeted us with such warmth and made us feel very welcome. Her and her staff worked tirelessly for all the guests. The Hotel is probably the best 3 star you will find. Everything was very well looked after and kept tidy. The Hotel is located near some outstanding restaurants, the one we preferred was Baia di Parè who had a full gluten free menu and baked their own GF Bread. Their food is outstanding! I highly recommend Hotel Bellavista.

A Haven of Alpine Tranquillity

Surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the Alps, Lake Como is a long, thin lake in the shape of an inverse ‘Y’. At its south-west corner is the beautiful town that it’s named after – Como. A short train ride from Milan, this is the starting point for several Lake Como cruises. If you take the funicular railway up to Brunate you get magnificent views of the lake and mountains, towards Switzerland just to the west.

The laidback and sophisticated way of life makes Como Lake popular with celebrities and several have homes in exclusive Bellagio, which is almost entirely surrounded by water. The views here are breathtaking, so it’s easy to see why of all the Lake Como hotels, Bellagio has the greatest concentration.

Just across the water are Lenno, Tremezzo and Menaggio, home to many exclusive lakefront hotels, many with swimming pools. You can actually swim in some parts of the lake, and the best beaches are found in the area near Gravedona in the north. Fanning out around a small harbour, this town offers some of the best Lake Como watersports.

At the lake’s south-eastern corner is Lecco, a town in the shadow of rugged mountains. Booking.com has a great range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Lecco and all the other main Lake Como towns.

    Approaching the hotel by boat or ferry is spectacular. The Hotel is the stand-out building of the town with an amazing history. Bellagio is situated on a fork in Lake Como with the Alps as a back-drop. Hotel service is excellent in all aspects and provided by fully uniformed, professional staff. Rooms with views of the lake and dining and relaxing in Grand rooms are unforgettable memories. The continental breakfast in the grand dining room had a vast choice of delicious foods to suit every taste. It was like stepping back in time and living in an age of grandeur and style. We will definitely return for more.

Particularly wanted to express gratitude to the waiter and waitress in the morning and for dinner - they know the menu well, friendly and welcoming. Please stay for lunch and dinner, exceptional menu and great value for money in the area. even if you are not staying - come over for dinner or lunch and take a seat outside weather permitting.

    The location ! Bellagio is stunning and this hotel is between 2 and 10 minutes walk from everything . Also we were surprised as we booked a “room with partial view of the lake” so we were expecting to have just a glimpse of it at the side of the window, but it was actually facing right at the lake ! The breakfast was tasty and the staff kind and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay there again

You can also rent a good boat for a fair price, which I 100% recommend you to do. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food at the restaurant was good. Breakfasts were ok.     This is a magical place! We stayed in a very cute, cozy cabin with a private patio and the most incredible views. We were able to enjoy a fire in the fireplace and enjoy the spacious well equipped cabin. We had a delicious meal in the evening in the main lodge. The hosts were so amenable, kind and attentive.     The ferry was very useful in getting around, and the staff were all very helpful with understanding the routes and times. Bellano was a hidden gem to visit with the waterfalls but the castle was a very steep trek that we didn’t find to be worth it at the end. Most restaurants close on either Tuesday or Wednesday so look up online incase there’s any you particularly want to eat at as we missed out on a couple. This is also the same for tourist attractions such as the villas. Coming from the UK we assumed everywhere touristy would be open 7 days a week but not in Italy. There is lots to do but just make sure you’re aware of the ferry times/train times so you don’t get stuck somewhere you don’t want to.

    Lecco is in the south part of Lake Como, but from almost all the cities that we look around the Lake, apart from Bellagio, Lecco is the most picturesque because the mountains chain in the Background. Is simply breathtaking. The city itself has nice restaurants, stores and the walk around the lake is fantastic. Is served from a Train station the reaches Milan and the airports in few times, make it easy to depart and come from overseas. The ferry boats have a fantastic service, and people are nice and helpful. Loved Lecco!!!

    Loved Menaggio - the location is right on Lake Como - plenty...

    Loved Menaggio - the location is right on Lake Como - plenty of eating options and all in easy walking distance. Prking is an issue though - in August anyway. Everyone in the town is very friendly. Having the ferry service at Menaggio is useful for getting easily to other towns on the Lake - much quicker than driving.

    Extremely beautiful village very clean, even in middle of July, it did not feel overcrowded, easy walk to all attractions, Villa Monastero gardens is a must. Enjoyed, 4hrs in Billagio for sightseeing and shopping although very crowded. Side trip via bus to the gorge in Bellano was a highlight. Note: This was our 60th wedding anniv.

    Beautiful lake, with amazing views of the mountains, very pleasant walk Ate at Per Bacca, and Risorante El Logasc, very good food and service. I'd highly recommend eating here Very easy to travel to other places, by car, train or bus

    I’d definetly book this place again, great views.

    I’d definetly book this place again, great views. It was fairly easy to get to and from, bit of a long journey but didn’t mind. The staff were great and the other people staying were nice to very international and friendly oh and I loved seeing peoples dogs but I’m not sure if they were staying there? The room was clean, beds comfortable, WiFi not sure it worked, breakfast good and fair price.

    It's a cute town with some lovely restaurants and easy enough to walk around for someone of average fitness. However if your purpose is to explore most of Lake Como, you will be limited to the slow ferry up to Bellagio / Varenna / Menaggio which takes 2-3hours. We had originally booked to stay in Varenna but cancelled due to works on the train line to get there. It still would have been a better option, or just staying in Como town to access the fast ferry. Most of the private boat tours also pick up from Como or from the "Golden Triangle" of the lake.

    Pretty little lake side town across lake from Lecco. Easy walk of 25 mins to Lecco centre with plenty of local restaurants and supermarkets/marts within walking distance. Free parking around area as well if happy to walk a bit to where you are staying if in apartment vs hotel

    Nice small village on the north west side of Como lake, with a small boulevard, a few nice restaurants, ice cream place and boat connections to other villages around the lake. A large supermarket is nearby for all the major shopping. Many cities and villages worth visiting by car within 1.5 hrs driving (eg Milano, Lugano, Bergamo). Not so touristic as the southern part of the lake, beautiful views, surrounded by mountains.
