If you love the water/fishing then you would love this fishing town. So relaxing to watch the fishing boating come in with the catch of the day. The fresh seafood at restaurants are amazing and the locals were the kindness people even though we did not speak Italian.Guest review byJaneUnited States - 6.0

There is no easy walking access to the cruise port or terminals, you will have to book a taxi OR take a bus from the train station to the port (40e). It is confusing and not well detailed by the cruise companies - do your research. Taxi from the train station to an apartment is equally a hassle (30e minimum).Guest review byAlanUnited States - 10.0

I don't think many people think of "going to the beach" in Rome, but it's only about 30 minutes away and costs $1.50 by public transit. The town itself is a little slow when not in high beach season, but there are loads of restaurants and shops to keep you busy if the beach isn't your thing. Public transport is great. And, you can visit incredible recently unearthed Roman Ruins of Ostia Antica very easily.Guest review byMichelle KinchUnited States - 10.0

During my visit to Gaeta, I was truly impressed by several places in this charming coastal town. I especially loved walking along the seaside promenade and the beautiful avenue of plane trees—it was very relaxing and scenic. The old town with its colorful streets and historic buildings was also a highlight. For a quick bite or a casual meal, there are plenty of great options. I particularly enjoyed the local cafés and restaurants where you can try fresh seafood and traditional Italian dishes. There are also small grocery stores nearby if you prefer to grab something on the go. Getting around Gaeta is quite easy. The town is compact, so most places can be reached on foot, and it’s very pleasant to explore the streets at a leisurely pace. For families with young children, I would highly recommend visiting the beaches, which are clean and safe. A walk along the promenade or a visit to the Spanish Fortress on Monte Orlando is also fun and manageable with kids. The town has a relaxed atmosphere, making it perfect for families to enjoy both sightseeing and leisure time together.Guest review byЖаннаUkraine - 10.0
Lovely place. Everyone very friendly.
Lovely place. Everyone very friendly. Sea great for gentle swimming; beautiful light in walks along lungomare, thanks to east-west orientation. Temple above Terracina a wonderful place to visit and look down from; another temple in Terracina itself, and a small Roman theatre, also full of interest. Many cats, and lots of local kindness to them. Restaurants very accommodating for vegans; ready to adapt and suggest.Guest review byGregoryUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Formia is a great place to visit, it has it all, beaches, restaurants, bars and lots and lots of history. Cisternone Romano Is a must see and only takes about 30 minutes, there are many Roman ruins and artefacts to see. The local wine shops are great and you can get fresh wine by the litre for less than €2! Olives and buffalo mozzarella are the best in the area and on sale everywhere (Itri and Gaeta make the best) the beaches are great and most have a lido bar and facilities costing around €15 to €25 for umbrella and 2 loungers for the day.Guest review byFrancoUnited Kingdom - 10.0
We liked the most the place was very calm, no noise.
We liked the most the place was very calm, no noise. You can easily find local restaurants with reasonable prices or can go to Anzio city to find more sophisticated restaurants. It is better to have a car as the sea is approximately 50 min. by walk.Guest review byLoreta - 10.0
Santa Marinella is close to Rome.
Santa Marinella is close to Rome. Trains are frequent and take less than one hour. It is very popular in the summer months for Italian visitors. You have a good selection of beaches, that mostly charge from €35 to €50 per day (08:45am-19:00) for two sun loungers and one umbrella. The beaches are very clean and well maintained. I speak Italian but some staff speak English. Bars and restaurants surround the beach so you have a good choice. Via Aurelia is closeby with plenty of shops and a very welcoming airconditioned supermarket, Conad. I revisited Santa Marinella having lived there many years ago. Some things have changed but overall, a lovely place to visit with or without family. I would highly recommend. It is recommended to book months in advance as tourists return every year. Places I recommend you stay are Maison Suite in via Aurelia or Hotel Cavalluccio Marino overlooking the beautiful sea. I have not supplied any photos as all photos available on line show Santa Marinella exactly how it is. Vi consigliate di visitare Santa Marinella nel futuro....Guest review byAdrianaIreland - 10.0

Very picturesque and impressive town with good Etruscan focused museum and a number of artistic events (concerts etc). Architecture is impressive and Etruscan tombs close to town. A very relaxed vibe. Would highly recommend.Guest review byDavid
