- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.0Good - What previous guests thought, 183 reviewsHotel la Playa was located right on the beach and situated right on the main road where all the restaurants and shops were. The hotel pool is incredible, clean, large and deep (with a shallow end as well). The beach is gorgeous and there is a hotel lifeguard on the beach to keep the clientele and their things safe. Hotel accommodations included beach beds and umbrellas which was a huge relief. The included breakfast was very good with many options and the cappuccino was delicious. The hotel was extremely clean and well maintained. We strongly recommend Hotel la Playa for your stay in Sperlonga and will return without a doubt!Guest review byManfriniCanada
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 96 reviewsMost of all, the staff - the ladies on Reception (Francesca especially) were delightful and so helpful when we decided to stay on for an extra night. The restaurant staff achieved the perfect balance between being friendly and yet professional. The beach is fantastic, the food is great, my room had a balcony with sea view - couldn't have asked for more really. The location between Gaeta and Sperlonga is perfect for visiting either town. The lifts all over the hotel made getting around so easy.Guest review byAnonymousUnited Kingdom

Lucky enough we had the good weather too and was able to explore what we had to set out to do like Saturnian terms, Porto Santo Stefano and the coast. The beach was nice and great that with all activities included like kayaking. The the facilities were great and stuff helpful especially and the lifeguards. The local supermarket was very handy with decent prices and productsGuest review bygeorgeUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 247 reviewsReally nice camping in the shade of old trees. The bungalow was well equipped, clean. The kitchen was equipped with all necessary equipment. Small terrace had barrier, so kids/dogs can't run out. The mini market had fresh bread and basic groceries. The beach is nice, clean, part with dogs is just next to the non-dog area. Both has umbrellas and sun beds.Guest review byJiříCzech Republic

We got robbed. Be aware of pickpockets in buses and trains.
We got robbed. Be aware of pickpockets in buses and trains. Also, if you buy something from a street vendor, make sure you first receive the stuff; otherwise, they will run away with your money. The city is beautiful, but Italians should work on their customer service skills. We felt like we were bothering them, even though we were spending a lot of money on their places.Guest review bycostamagnaCanada - 10.0

If you love the water/fishing then you would love this fishing town. So relaxing to watch the fishing boating come in with the catch of the day. The fresh seafood at restaurants are amazing and the locals were the kindness people even though we did not speak Italian.Guest review byJaneUnited States - 6.0

There is no easy walking access to the cruise port or terminals, you will have to book a taxi OR take a bus from the train station to the port (40e). It is confusing and not well detailed by the cruise companies - do your research. Taxi from the train station to an apartment is equally a hassle (30e minimum).Guest review byAlanUnited States - 10.0

I don't think many people think of "going to the beach" in Rome, but it's only about 30 minutes away and costs $1.50 by public transit. The town itself is a little slow when not in high beach season, but there are loads of restaurants and shops to keep you busy if the beach isn't your thing. Public transport is great. And, you can visit incredible recently unearthed Roman Ruins of Ostia Antica very easily.Guest review byMichelle KinchUnited States - 8.0

Viterbo is a lovely town to visit and it is definitely a trip worth it if you want to escape all the hassle and bustle of Rome. Viterbo has a unique charm and I fell in love with it when I walked the Via Francigena. I stayed in Orchard Bed & Breakafast in Viterbo centre on the Via francigena path as it is available for pilgrims. Viterbo has more than one Spa resort. There are plenty of restaurants and the city is booming with vibrance and cafes. staying 3 nights in Viterbo was definitely worth it. The Park is lovely and the people are friendly. You do not have to worry about theft or other annoying misdemeanors. I would recommend 'Pizza Express'. It is an Indian restaurant, reasonable price and offers a wide range of dishes!!!Guest review byAquilaIreland - 10.0

During my visit to Gaeta, I was truly impressed by several places in this charming coastal town. I especially loved walking along the seaside promenade and the beautiful avenue of plane trees—it was very relaxing and scenic. The old town with its colorful streets and historic buildings was also a highlight. For a quick bite or a casual meal, there are plenty of great options. I particularly enjoyed the local cafés and restaurants where you can try fresh seafood and traditional Italian dishes. There are also small grocery stores nearby if you prefer to grab something on the go. Getting around Gaeta is quite easy. The town is compact, so most places can be reached on foot, and it’s very pleasant to explore the streets at a leisurely pace. For families with young children, I would highly recommend visiting the beaches, which are clean and safe. A walk along the promenade or a visit to the Spanish Fortress on Monte Orlando is also fun and manageable with kids. The town has a relaxed atmosphere, making it perfect for families to enjoy both sightseeing and leisure time together.Guest review byЖаннаUkraine - 10.0

Beyond gorgeous. It’s a dream vacation spot and easily travelled by electric bike to all the beaches. Mostly Italian tourists which made it seem much more chilled out than other beach spots in Italy. Highly recommendGuest review byKristinaUnited States - 10.0

Villa d’Este was amazing and had waterfalls to rival Palace of Versailles. The walk through Villa Gregoriana gardens down the side of the hill to the bottom of the waterfalls was a solid hike and not for the feeble. Definitely take a couple of hours to visit Hadrian’s Villa (aka Villa Adriana) which had amazing historical half crumbling palace and ornamental lake.Guest review bySharee F.Australia - 10.0

Ciampino is a lovely typical Italian town, it’s not very touristy but the locals etc still make you very welcome. It is also excellent if your flying to Ciampino airport it’s literally about 9 minutes on the bus (Airport to the town). If you were stuck for transport from the airport to the hotel I’m sure you could walk it in about 20-25 minutes 😁.Guest review byScott&ElaineUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Lovely place. Everyone very friendly.
Lovely place. Everyone very friendly. Sea great for gentle swimming; beautiful light in walks along lungomare, thanks to east-west orientation. Temple above Terracina a wonderful place to visit and look down from; another temple in Terracina itself, and a small Roman theatre, also full of interest. Many cats, and lots of local kindness to them. Restaurants very accommodating for vegans; ready to adapt and suggest.Guest review byGregoryUnited Kingdom
