I heard about this hotel from a friend who stayed here recently. Although I usually don't like trying new hotels, my experience here exceeded all expectations. I felt comfortable during my one-night stay and wished I had time to stay another night. In the evening, we were served homemade desserts, and the owner took us on a simple ride in his private car around the city, stopping at a viewpoint to watch the beautiful sunset. It was an unforgettable experience.

The camp was great !!! We loved the location, the ambiance at night, the music and the buffet ! We also did 2 activities that they offer, the camel ride at sunset and the tour of 6 hours in jeep ! The experiences are unforgettable, everyone was so kind !

Definitely, the best accomodation that we had during our trip to Jordan. Starting with the staff, through the food, ending with available terrace, everything was perfect. The receptions were super helpful and open. They helped us plan tour around Petra and prepared really huge magluba for a dinner.

The location of the hotel was perfect. Close to a lot of restaurants and supermarkets. The room was nicely decorated and clean. We had good views over Petra. The staff was super helpful, they provide free shuttle to Petra visitor centre that's a bonus. Breakfast is also good and again views are fascinating. We really enjoyed our stay, and if we ever come to Petra in the future, we will happily stay here again.

My stay at Dana Horizon Hotel was truly exceptional. The rooms had a beautiful traditional touch with unforgettable views — perfect for those seeking peace and breathtaking nature. The prices were very reasonable, and we enjoyed both lunch and dinner so much that we ordered them again. The welcome was warm, and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly, which made the experience even more comfortable. The next morning, we went on a 7-hour hiking tour through the stunning landscape.

Great place and family hospitality. Organized superb hike for us in one of the most beautiful locations we’ve ever been and with super friendly guide Ahmad. Highly recommended! Comfortable rooms and though it was winter cold they brought us a heater. I would only suggest to use electric heaters that are safe to run through the night instead of the gas one. Super tasty home cooked food as well!

We travelled through Jordan already for a week, before arriving we only stayed in 5 star places but this place was THE BEST!     Perfectly clean, cozy and comfortable. The breakfast is really tasty. And it'only 4 min with a car to Petra visitor's center and 5' walking to the city center. The big star however goes to the staff. The guy was so helpful, so accurate with all recommendations! He helped us to prepare a plan to visit most of Petra giving the little time we had. He also arranged a lunch boxes for all of us for Petra visit, as a compliment. We were a group of 11 and felt in secure hands while with him!

    The staff is so nice!! I had problems and they helped me and took care of me. The place is very peaceful and not too far from the main attractions (about 10 mins away from Petra). At night, the place becomes all lit up and it’s so beautiful. Some bedouins play music outside. They offer diner for 10 JD and the food is delicious. The rooms are cozy and clean! There are mountains nearby to watch the sunset.

    Nice and comfort renovated rooms. Excellent location, if you are there for Petra - 200 meters from the main entrance. We've been very well looked after personally from the manager on duty Imad, if you need anything there look for him, he is very polite and kind and is from Petra, he knows everything there.

    Probably my rating or comment is not suitable for every travelers as foreigner but living in Jordan for long time. Definitely, I need 5 star hotels in Dead Sea or Aqaba to refresh myself and my family regularly. But Dana is a great place to also have regular visit as it is located within 2.5 hours range from my home in Amman, and to experience this great nature in reasonable expense. After over 10 years of staying in this country, as a person like to sleep under the millions of stars, Dana is most frequently visited location at the recent years of my life in Jordan.

    we have encountered fraudulent behavior on the part of the accommodation operator. after making the reservation via "booking.com" we arrived to the location - meeting with the resort representative "Ahmad" we were taken to another camp resort ( very old, nor matching the pictures during the booking, empty ) being told that the other "camp" is full... but 1 room could still be found - as long as we're happy to pay double price. We accepted as we're in the middle of desert. But this was clearly deliberate fraudulent conduct. Our recommendation would be for Booking.com not to keep contractual relationship with such accommodation providers.

    Petra is always a magical place in your imagination.

    Petra is always a magical place in your imagination. However it does not compare to the real thing! No matter how vivid your imagination! You need at least two whole days if not three to really enjoy the sights of Petra. We stayed a short distance away from the visitor center closer to the town centre where there are lovely restaurants and a more local vibe. It's better to take it easier and absorb the local culture and ancient history.

    The reserve is beautiful.

    The reserve is beautiful. We spent 3 days hiking and hardly saw any other people. Amazing colors and sweeping vistas. Definitely go with a knowledgeable guide to get the best experience. Stay at the Jabal Dana Hotel for great views and amazing food.

    Pay attention to the weather conditions depending on the time of year. We had to abandon the hike due to heavy rain 3 days before (end of February/beginning of March). Our host recommended doing this hike after March 15 and ideally in May.

    Great location right next to little Petra and 5 minutes from Petra. Suggest you take a car to the top (Rear) of Petra and enter near the monastery then walk down hill towards the entrance as it is a big day of walking. Hotel has lovely staff and very helpful. Every night was a large outdoor fire with tea service and music while the hills had lights on them for great photos. Suggest spending two nights in this hotel min maybe 3-4 nights to experience all the surround areas.
