The location is excellent, close to the train station, but also close to shops, restaurants and the Kanazawa castle. We enjoyed our time in the city and the hotel is very comfortable and welcoming to allow us to relax and unwind after a busy day. Recomend warmly.

Could not reccomend this hotel enough! We had a super comfortable bed in a spacious room (the biggest we had in our Japan trip), the hotel is beautifully designed with a cool vinyl bar at the entrance. But the staff was the most amazing part of our stay: they gave us lot of advices on the best areas to explore, restaurant reccomendations and helped us with reservation and more. Don’t miss out on their Google Maps lists as well! Would definitely go back!

    Kanazawa was a really good destination.

    Kanazawa was a really good destination. There was a lot less hustle and bustle than what we encountered in Tokyo and Kyoto, but had quite a few tourist sites to see. It was worth the effort to go there.

    What we liked most was the Yayoi Kusama Museum.

    What we liked most was the Yayoi Kusama Museum. However it was closed on Monday, the only day we had during our stay. So we had to change our onward ticket to extend to Tue afternoon so that we can visit the museum on Tue.

    It's a lot quieter than Tokyo or Osaka in comparison, but...

    It's a lot quieter than Tokyo or Osaka in comparison, but because of this felt very peaceful and I had a wonderful time exploring the town. The dinosaurs were very cute! Unfortunately I didn't manage to stay long enough for my liking, but definitely look forward to returning in the future.

    We picked Tsuruga because it was only 2.5 hours drive from...

    We picked Tsuruga because it was only 2.5 hours drive from Chubu International Airport. It was perfect as a base to explore the areas around. Tsuruga is a seaside town so there were plenty of seafood if you are a sashimi and sushi fan.

    The onsen was totally Japanese in style and attention to detail, very relaxing and with a staff dedicated to providing the best service. They were attentive and helpful. The forest near the onsen was beautiful for hiking and contemplating nature. Loved it. I will definitely return and to the same onsen.

    The hotel was fantastic, evening and more than my team expected! We loved the traditional clothing and meals, especially dinner. The breakfast for most Americans is a little rough. The hot springs were EPIC and the swimming was just right. Thank you

    It was a wonderful experience for me since this is my first time to snow mountain , the view at Tateyama Kogen Hotel was really stunning . When i checked in it was very foggy and the next morning i just couldn't believe my eyes the ALPS peak is just in front of my room window . It was so close to me . It's really beautiful with the sunrise . Since i went there early 1st May , i can only see the snow wall corridor and the beauty of Kurobe dam . The view is really pretty. oh if you are planning to drive to Ogizawa , don't worry there are plenty of car park but make sure you arrive early . We park our car at Shinano Omachi and took a bus there as afraid can't find parking due to Golden week holiday , I could have drive up there !

    It is a lovely place, with good service and clean rooms. Meals are good too. It is a small place so it is easy to walk around. I would avoid arriving at night , esp for guests who are just staying for one night . Make sure to check the operational dates for the Kurobe Gorge Railway

    Kanazawa was awesome.

    Kanazawa was awesome. It’s a mix of traditional and modern with everything you need at your fingertips. It’s a great home base, especially if you are driving as it’s within range of lots of great places.

    I forgot about the library but overall not many sights near...

    I forgot about the library but overall not many sights near the train stations for a tourist. I came from the Ogizawa side of the Tateyama Kurobe route and thought that I could have taken the shinkansen to Nagano or train to Kanazawa to spend the day/night there instead. However, Toyama seems like an ideal overnight stop from the Tateyama side. Despite being a fish port, I thought that the popular kaiten sushi shops by the train stations are a little overrated, though still good. I’d try instead some of the local delicacies instead.
