We had a 50 min private bath which was extremely soothing. There were small zen gardens, libraries in a corner, and cupboards full of yukatas of different colors and designs. Kanazawa is a gem of a town.
Kanazawa is a gem of a town. We really enjoyed the Samurai quarter, it's quaint and not over-populated. Kanazawa castle is fantastic, and so is Kenrokuen garden. The museum of modern art is also compact and quite good.Guest review byGuyIsrael - 10.0

The onsen was totally Japanese in style and attention to detail, very relaxing and with a staff dedicated to providing the best service. They were attentive and helpful. The seaside accomodation was just as advertised. The host was helpful and a delight. She made sure we had a lovely 2 nights there. Rooms were well presented and large with amenities that were first rate. The glass manufacture workshop and the glass museum were well woth the trip. The glass gallery is world class and the architecture special and suited to its location. The aquarium was disappointing. Having spent 10 days in Tokyo I was thrilled to arrive in Kanazawa (via bullet train) and notice straight away how it was "quiet"...less people on the streets, less humid (nice relief) and overall the city operated at a slower pace - a nice reprieve. Also, a great city to walk around - all of the tourist attractions, I think, are within a few miles so no need for buses / taxi's etc. I would highly recommend for a 2 day visit - not sure if more is required to hit the main tourist sites.Guest review byYvonneIreland
