Basically everything was incredible. All aspects of our stay felt very luxurious. They have a private hot spring bath for general use of all the guests. Hotel is located in very fancy/Boujee part of Kyoto. 10 minutes walk to Nishiki Market, which was also amazing experience.

Room was small (as expected) but very bright and warm and the space was used really well. Actually, it was the only Japan room we stayed in that had a closet! And the bed and the shower were both some of the biggest we experienced during our Japan visit! We also loved the lounge area and it was a great touch that they provided free drinks there.

    Perfect location. This was such a cool hotel and lots of details were meticulously chosen for the vibe. The staff was helpful and friendly. They downplayed their English abilities when asked, but their English was excellent. There is a laundry on site which can be helpful for packing light. The room was spacious, maybe around a standard US room size, with a spacious shower. There is a little outdoor cafe right outside and this hotel is just steps away from many historic streets. This hotel was truly unique.

    loved the location, one can see the shinkansens and trains, I requested a quiet room but was given a room that was very close to the railways, it was loud when i opened the window but I like the sound and view of trains. I will return to the hotel, pool was very nice so was sauna. great view over the train station and shinkansen and trains - for someone that loves trains it is s must!!! bear in mind U may also hear them but for me it was a music :)

    The location was great, next to the Yasaka Shrine, couple of minutes walking distance. Also, walking distance to Gion Japanese traditional streets. Really confortable room, it was spacious and bed were so soft. Staff was friendly and provide us with umbrellas for rainy days. We receive clean and fresh towels and yukatas every single day.

    The hotel is close to train station, they give free ice cream for each person each day which is super awesome! Toilet is clean, bed and blanket is super comfortable like cloud! Their toiletries, are using their own brand of shampoo and body cleanser that smells really good 👍

    The people of Kyoto were very friendly despite what is often written online about the city being too crowded and having too many tourists. My only regret was the weather - which at the time was exceptionally hot and overcast. I would highly recommend visiting during the month of October rather than September.

    Miyazu which includes Amanohashidate, is one of three natural sites in Japan. The land bridge spans across the sea is fun to view from the observation points (on both sides) and you can actually bike (20 minutes) or walk (50 minutes) one way across. A small town with lots of charm and beauty.

    The staff was awesome! They did everything in their power to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Room is extremely small by US standards! Room could use a microwave, the only one available was on the ground floor and I was on the 7th.

    Kameoka is the starting point of the famous and historical Hozu River rafting ride that takes you to Arashiyama, home of the famous bamboo forest. Enjoy the rafting, enjoy Arashiyama and take the train back to Kameoka. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the station. A perfect day.

    Gionmachi is a wonderful section of Kyoto and offers much to see and experience. It is easy, maybe 15 to 20 minutes taxi to other areas of Kyoto that are also beautiful, historical and traditional. Overall, this is a place I would come back to because I have much more to see.

    we was in kyoto for 7 days in spetember, the temp was over 30 daily, 7 days was perfect as we saw all the temples over the days, got to enjoy some amazing tiktok restaurants, had a few cheap nights in, where we got some amazing food from the local supermarket, the oakwood hotel, let ppl use their dining area, when they are not serving breakfast. the bus in kyoto, if you stay within an area (best to google) is a one off 230yen so we took a bus from the oike area to the golden temple for 230yen each way. buses take 10 50 100 500 1000 yen and will give change, but its best to have correct amount. get on the bus at the back, i think if there is not ticket machine, the bus will stay in the 230yen area, then get off and pay at the front. the bus i used had a screen detailing its route

    I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas. If you are sightseeing in Kyoto, Nara, or Osaka for a few days, staying at this facility and using Kameoka as your base will be the best way to travel to Kansai. Like taking a day trip from your home. If your schedule is 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days, it is definitely a good deal even if you add transportation expenses. You can't stay in a house in Kyoto or Nara.

    Kyoto was a clean & safe city for my wife and me. We were impressed with the quality of tourist attractions, notably temples and shrines, plus more modern shopping options. It has a very different energy to Tokyo or Osaka, focussing on the traditional history of the city.
