- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 1,627 reviewsGreat location, a pleasant 7 minutes walk from Shrine and ropeway. The last 1 minute is uphill but not onerous at all. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. They also spoke English. Amazing indoor and outdoor onsen which we made full use of. Big comfortable room with kettle and TV (YouTube app available). Enjoyed the Japanese meal and breakfast (food plentiful, make sure you arrive extremely hungry). Their slogan is “Your home in Miyajima” and it’s so true. So comfortable and they provide everything including yukatas. You could literally just turn up with a change of underwear and everything else is pretty much available (toothbrush, hairbrush, toner & moisturiser in the onsen bathroom).Guest review byShuk WanHong Kong
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 381 reviewsThis hotel is directly across from the ferry terminal so it was so convenient with all our luggage. Lovrly clean hotel with a spacious room that even had a massage chair. Beds were super comfy. The stay was really special, with touches like a lounge area near reception for guests to help themselves to unlimited tea, coffee, soft drinks, cake, biscuits and ice cream. Our son was in heaven!! The buffet breakfast was delicious, especially the French toast. The hotel has separate male and female onsen which was a nice way to wind down in the evenings.Guest review byTanyaAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 2,217 reviewsThe omotenashi - the spirit of Japanese hospitality - was just incredible. Thank you to absolutely every member of the staff who made our stay so enjoyable. Person who picked us up in a shuttle, people at the front desk, people who served dinner and breakfast. Simply wonderful. The meals were generous and delicious. Hotel itself is nostalgic retro style. View is beautiful. Public baths are clean and relaxing.Guest review byIaroslavnaAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 639 reviewsBest stay of our journey. Family operated accomodation. Great hosts, welcoming us warmly and introducing us to Japanese cuisine and culture. Traditional rooms and delicious food. Located close to the ferry terminal and short walk away from Itsukushima shrine with its red torii in the water and the cable car station to Mount Misen. If you're lucky, you will see some deer close to the accomodation.Guest review byRolandSwitzerland

They even contacted Booking because of a charging error that I hadn't even realized about and solved it before I ever notice it. The japanese breakfast was really good, lots of different things to sample and very well prepared. Excellent location at a walking distance from everything in town.Guest review byJuanSpain

Miyajima was great for walking around and doing the ropeway to the top. A lot of little eateries and street food- good if you like seafood. Scenic with the giant Tori gate and shrines, woods, deer walking around. Miyajima was one of my favorite spots on our trip to Japan.Guest review byMarciaUnited States - 10.0
It does get busy during the day when lots of tourists come...
It does get busy during the day when lots of tourists come over by ferry for the day however we hired bikes and managed to stay clear of the crowds for the most part. The Island becomes very quite in the evening which is perfect, I would advise that you book a restaurant as lots of the island closes around 5-6pm so anything that is open later gets booked up. We were very lucky to just get the last free table on two occasions. Also the deer wandering around especially in the dusk and evening before al the ferries drop off are enchanting, however they are not like the deer in Nara park and there are lots of signs that remind people not to feed or bother the deer, not everyone follows these rules which is disappointing.Guest review byDonnaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
It was my second trip to Miyajima island.
It was my second trip to Miyajima island. The first time I only travelled their with my wife and we did not stay in any accommodation. I left back on the ferry same day feeling that I had to eventually return. I was able to do that and I loved every moment. It's an island I would consider going back too again and staying over again. The island offers so much. For those that want heritage and history, tick. For those that want a close encounter with a deers, tick. For those who love calm beaches or mountains, tick. For those that want experiences with friendly locals, tick. Those wanting to do shopping, especially souveniours, tick. For those who want physical activity, the walking trails up the mountain are a definite tick. I could go on, but, for so many reasons I love and would highly recommend travel to Miyajima.Guest review byAdamAustralia
