- From $421.36 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 2,434 reviewsSituated in a forested area right next to the shore of lake Kawaguchi, the hotel features very spacious rooms with great views of the surrounding nature. Top floor has an observation area featuring direct unobstructed views of Mt.Fuji, weather permitting. Great breakfast in the morning, while the hotel's restaurant offered excellent dinner options in the evening - I particularly liked the Japanese style menus made up of nine dishes. Shuttle bus every hour to Kawaguchiko station, making it easy to catch the bus to Subaru 5th station where the climb up Fuji begins. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and overall very professional.Guest review byBogdanRomania
- From $196.15 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 1,000 reviewsA glorious, uninterrupted view of Mt. Fuji from the room balcony. The rooms were well maintained and super clean. The large balcony spanning the bedroom and the living room was the highlight of the facility. The facility provides free pick up and drop service from Kawaguchiko station (its a 5 minute ride) - and you can use that everyday you are staying there. Kawaguchiko station is your central point from where you have access to transportation to enable you to explore the area. If you take the stay with meals, you will be treated to some delightful and authentic Japanese food for dinner - some 8 courses of them!Guest review byAviNetherlands
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 195 reviewsFrom the moment we arrived the hotel took our breath away even before we saw our room. I booked this hotel for my brother's birthday and the staff made this honestly a stay to remember. We used the bikes and went on a bike ride and we had an onsen in our room which was great as my brother has tattoos. The view from our room was beautiful! On the night of our meal our waitress asked to take a picture of us which she then had printed and framed and put on our table for breakfast which was such a lovely memorable touch!Guest review byHannahlee_25United Kingdom
- From $237.76 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 3,718 reviewsThe view of the Fuji mountain is the best thing in this hotel , Also the greenary is nice its like forest living - But again the Fuji mountain is super room's patio , Location is a bit away from city so no nearby restaurants or convienc- So going to the city center or the bus station will be difficult , The hotel provides bycycles for their guests which were very helpful to us . , Also pickup and dropoff from hotel is very helpful . , Staff is also very helpful .. , Overall we really liked our stay here.Guest review byGOLDIEChina
- From $245.68 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.4Good - What previous guests thought, 2,204 reviewsI loved absolutely everything - except for the bed. The staff was wonderful, the location was unbeatable, and the dinner & breakfast were exceptional. Plus the onsen was incredibly relaxing and beautiful to be at. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. My only hesitation would be the mattresses. They are not comfortable and very thin, which isn't great when they are on the floor.Guest review byRobertUnited States

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 2,164 reviewsAmazing hotel with a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji. We loved the breakfast, and they were accommodating for food allergies (gluten). For dinner, they ordered food from local restaurants to be delivered directly to our room, since we missed dinner. The onsen bath was spectacular as well!Guest review byEminaGermany

We were able to take great pictures of Mt Fuji from our window. The onsen and buffet was great. The price was affordable for a group of 8 with free breakfast and dinner. The room was clean and Yukata was included. Highly recommendedGuest review byMiyoUnited States - 10.0
I recommend staying.
I recommend staying. I wrote a long review separately which I hope is useful; please refer to that. In addition, for young children, you can visit the sheep shed where they keep the sheep to see sheep up close, wander down and the up the hill behind reception, and get the best tasting soft serve ever from the restaurant!Guest review byDavinosJapan - 8.0
I travelled from Tokyo to Shin-Fuji via Kodama Shinkansen.
I travelled from Tokyo to Shin-Fuji via Kodama Shinkansen. The fare is ¥5900 one way and travel time is nearly an hour. I stayed at Toyoko Inn which is 150 meters from the Shin Fuji station. There are lots of car rentals in the area but I was not able to get one as they only accept advance booking from their website. It took me 2 hours getting to and from the foot of Mt. Fuji, by bus and a 15 minute walk in the village to reach my destinations. Roads are quite narrow but they are common in Japan. Like most countryside places in Japan, Fuji is relatively clean, rich in nature, and lots of places to explore. My advice if you want to visit Fuji: 1. Travel by Shinkansen going to and from Fuji. 2. Rent a car so you can visit most of the attractions in and around Mt. Fuji. 3. Spend at leat 3-4 days in the area. 4. Bring cash with you always as most establishments are cash based. 5. Download Papago app on your phone so you can translate Japanese images, signs, etc if you're having difficulty understanding the language. That's it and enjoy your trip to Mt. Fuji.Guest review byMauro Jr - 10.0
Everything about Gotemba is excellent and magical.
Everything about Gotemba is excellent and magical. Gotemba is one of the most significant epicenters for adventure and sightseeing in all of Japan. It is of course an exceptional gateway to hiking and adventuring on Mount Fuji using the Gotemba, Subashiri and Fujinomiya 5th Station traiheads. Hakone-Yumoto onsens/spas and Lake Ashi are also right in the area. Free shuttle buses offer a 20 minute ride straight to the Famous Gotemba Outlets if shopping for 15 hours is what you are in the mood for. Don't forget Odawara Castle just down the way or Fuji-Q and the Fuji Speedway just up the way, to name a few. Gotemba ROCKS! Mount Fuji and the Osunabashiri descending trail are really the #1 world class attraction among many. Furthermore, all the special local people who support all the vast Gotemba opportunities are the best and truly loved.Guest review byBrettUnited States - 10.0
Lake Yamanaka is such a pretty place - Mt.
Lake Yamanaka is such a pretty place - Mt. Fuji never showed her face during our stay for the icon lake photos but it didn’t take away from the magic. The little town just 20 mins away by bus from our domes was super cute, filled with history, culture, and more shopping.Guest review byElizabethUnited States - 10.0

Perfect location! You can see the majestic Mount Fuji from the window. The mountain view in the morning mist is breathtaking. The room is clean and cozy, fully equipped. Everything about Fujikawaguchiko is just perfect. Nice town, beautiful view of Mt Fuji. For an outdoor enthusiast, this town is perfect. It got mountains, nice enough for day hike. it got caves, lakes, old tunnel turn into a museum, ropeway, halal restaurant. I just love Fujikawaguchiko and its beauty.Guest review byZelaMalaysia - 10.0

We came to Gotemba because we wanted a base from which to climb Fuji and the hotels offered an onsen which was far more reasonable that some of the other hotels in area. There is a bus that runs from the train station to the 5th station where you can start your climb - just make sure you exit the station on the right side! (left as you come up the stairs from the trains) Most useful if you've got a car otherwise I think I'd have stayed elsewhereGuest review byJohnstonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We stayed for just one night to have the amazing view and cheaper hostel prices. One night in yamanakako, one night in kawaguchico, is perfect. Yamanakako is quieter and less touristy, which is exactly what we wanted. However, the bus schedule limits how many places you can go cuz they come every 1 hrGuest review byLiCanada
