We had such a wonderful time at Lime Resort! The room was incredible - modern Japanese / Western style, large, clean and quiet. We were a little worried at first as there was no shower in our room but the Onsen turned out to be fabulous. They also had separate shower rooms which were very clean and comfortable to use, and never busy (even during peak times). Food was fantastic! Beautiful buffet style breakfast and dinner served every day. Good quality ingredients and a nice selection (slightly light on "Western" options but this all depends on preference). We certainly didn't go hungry. Shuttle service was regular and always on schedule. They were able to accommodate our change of arrival time and allowed us an early check in at late notice. Overall I cannot fault Lime Resort and would gladly stay here again!

The Address is the place to stay in Akakura Onsen when visiting Myoko Kogen. It is right on the main strip so easily accessible to the lifts, rentals, restaurants, bars and the only convenience store (Yamazaki) is just opposite the hotel. But what really sets the place apart is the hospitality of the host and owner who takes a personal touch to ensuring your stay is comfortable and everything goes smoothly.     I can’t describe adequately how much we enjoyed our stay at Refre… Peter, Jen and the whole staff went above and beyond to make us feel like family. Any request or help we needed was met with kindness, humour and efficiency. What made our stay so good was that it seemed that the Refre team really enjoyed having us there. Not like other hotels in Japan, where people are polite but robotic, we honestly felt more at home at Refre then at some family Christmas lunches! The hotel had such a good vibe, excellent breakfast, great communal area where you can sit and meet other travellers, have a beer or a tea. The private onsen was pretty special, after a day on the mountain, having the option to relax in a thermal onsen was very luxurious. The other great thing about Refre is that they know the town very well, can recommend the best places to eat, where to get gear from and details about each ski resort that you wouldn’t know. We will be back, for longer and telling all our friends to book at Refre!

    Location was perfect. Ski in ski out and just a 10 minute walk into the heart of town. Comfortable- the beds were so comfy. There was a gorgeous fire that you could sit around on an evening and enjoy your own food and drinks. They also had a lovely dinner and breakfast area. Kazu and his family were so unbelievably accommodating!!! Picking us up from the station and taking us into town when one of my friends was injured. Ski hire was easy and cheap through the hotel link. We also got discounted lift passes through the hotel voucher. All staff at the hotel were amazing. A huge thank you for making our stay so perfect.

    The atmosphere was great and very traditional. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The traditional breakfasts and dinners were amazing. Also they had a several Onsen options from private to public. We would stay again if we came to the myoko Kogan region.

    Myoko is an incredible region of fun, the mountains offer heaps of ski resorts with fantastic runs, lessons, places to dine and sit with a hot beverage or refreshen beer or sake. Its wonderful for both families and those who are daring to hit the slopes for thrills. The hotel shuttles, local buses and taxis make travel from resort to various slopes, very easy. The locals are exceptionally helpful and friendly.

    The snow in Myoko is otherworldly.

    The snow in Myoko is otherworldly. The powder is unimaginably great and really loved visiting Seki Onsen Ski Area. It's a small, family-owned ski area run by the Inoue Family who are the kindest and most hospitable people you'll find anywhere in Japan. Family-owned and run ski areas are in decline with large corporations buying up ski areas across Japan, so it was a real treat to ski at an area where the snow was perfect and you're supporting a local business. 10 our 10 for Seki Onsen Ski Area!

    Ski areas vary considerably in the area. Akakura Onsen has absolutely the worst lifts i have experienced in Japan. When they weren't broken down they were extremely slow. On the other hand Suginohara has a new gondola and modern 'high' speed lifts. This was the pick of the mountains to ski for me.
