- From US$143.78 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 247 reviewsThe Hotel Kanronomori has everything one needs. The hotel staff is very attentive and professional. We particularly want to compliment T Ayana, who kindly assisted us with numerous arrangements and calls until we were completely satisfied. The hotel provides ski rental and ski lessons. Thanks also to Leo for making our ski lessons so enjoyable! There is a free shuttle bus to the nearest ski station. The food is excellent and varied at all times. There are many more activities and facilities such as live music at the evenings. The surroundings are mesmerising in winter, and when looked at from the hotel! We had a superb stay, and a very good part of this feeling is thanks to the hotel facilities and more importantly to its staff. Thanks to you all!Guest review byDanSingapore
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 398 reviewsWe had a wonderful stay here, the cleanliness, comfort, hospitality was superb. Rooms are not that spacious but so comfy and enough space for us travelling with 3 luggage including one XL luggage. Toilets are clean and heated (the best during winter) and with a bathtub. Breakfast spread was also amazing and delicious. It was very convenient for us to go about skiing and storing our equipment since they provide storage lockers that are conveniently located for ease to skiers/snowboarders so we don't have to walk far. There is also a lot of parking space since we rented a car. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Lastly, imagine all these comes with a view- from rooms, to hallways, to breakfast lounge, all overlooking the mountains.Guest review byNurMalaysia
- From US$172.53 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 596 reviewsThis is the second time I have stayed here and it is still awesome. Rooms are a very good size and have good facilities. Excellent Onsen. Get breakfast included because the breakfast is very good and worth the extra money. Walking distance (less than 10 minutes) to Moiwa snow area. Has a courtesy shuttle bus to Niseko resorts. We had to eat in the hotel restaurant on a couple of nights and the meals were much less expensive than you would expect.Guest review byMarkAustralia

Straight out the door and onto the mountain. View of Mt Yotei was sensational. I spent pretty much 2 days in my room soaking up the snow storm views and the changing light. Kutchan is a delightful town that offers the perfect mix of adventure, culture, and local flavor. Nestled near the base of Mount Yōtei, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking year-round — we are admiring snow-covered peaks. A unique highlight is Mishima’s Shibazakura Garden, where vibrant pink moss phlox blooms in spring with Mount Yōtei as a stunning backdrop. We drive around the mountain to get perfect views. As a group of food lovers will enjoy exploring local eateries offering everything from hearty ramen to Kutchan’s famous jaga-imo (potatoes). Don’t miss Tsubara Tsubara for a comforting bowl of soup curry. Kutchan is more than just a ski town—it's a year-round destination full of charm, flavor, and natural beauty. Highly recommended for travelers looking to experience authentic Hokkaido.Guest review byJonieSingapore - 10.0

It's probaby the least time of the year that you should go to since it's like a ghost town. Most restaurant, resorts and activities are close or under renovation but if you like peace and quiet or your probably a local who has a car and drive around then this place is a nice place to visit. But I enjoyed the weather this time. View is always beautiful and admirable. One of the best places I've been to in my lifetime.Guest review byChristinePhilippines - 6.0
Kutchan town is not the ski resort.
Kutchan town is not the ski resort. You have to take a 15-30 mins bus or taxi to nearby Hirafu, Hanazono, Niseko Village or Annupuri resort, which makes up the "Niseko United" ski resort. However, the town is a gateway. A few restaurants is around but they are a bit spread out. There's 2 tasty BBQ restaurant 10 minutes walk away. The Kutchan train station is the gateway to/from Otaru and Sapporo. However, the train is a drag. An 1+ hour plus to Otaru and total 2 hours to Sapporo. Same for bus. Public transportation is lacking at night time. Check schedule or prebook taxi is recommended during night hours.Guest review byChetMalaysia - 10.0
Niseko is so popular now that's it's becoming overcrowded.
Niseko is so popular now that's it's becoming overcrowded. People can get very frustrated at ski queues when others push in front. Think about staying in Kutchan nearby. Supermarkets there offer great produce at affordable prices. Also think about hiring a car as public transport sucks big time in rural Japan.Guest review byAndrewAustralia - 10.0

Kutchan is a lovely city with friendly locals and widespread English proficiency, making communication easy. There are plenty of options for renting or purchasing snowboard gear, which is convenient for enthusiasts. Overall, I will definitely return to Kutchan.Guest review byNan pmwThailand - 6.0

Australian perspective: Niseko has some great skiing and a lot of terrain compared to other resorts but it is now really busy (although not from a lift queue perspective - you rarely have to wait more than a few minutes except first lift) having been 'discovered', so in the town, getting restaurant bookings can be difficult and gen there is a queue for the bars. It is also quite regulated compared to other resorts. Go out of bounds at your peril because if ski patrol catch you they will confiscate your passes. Understandable I guess because with the increased numbers they are getting more people going out of bounds who prob shouldn't (no avalanche gear etc.) causing issues. This isn't such an issue at other resorts though. Have been there 4 times and its not quite what it was.Guest review byRobertAustralia
