The staff were an exceptionally nice family. Helped with everything starting with a welcome drink and ending by hailing our bus down to the next town. They also arranged our safari for the cheapest price we had come by, with an excellent guide.

The tiny house really is beautiful as it's in the middle of the jungle and super comfortable. the nature is at full force as monkey and birds are seen regularly. The people were so kind and the food was really good. The prices are very competitive too. Overall top place!

I can’t rate my stay highly enough. This is my second visit here. I came back to see if I could find the elusive sloth bear and I did on my first days safari I was lucky enough to have Anton and Randy as guides. Also saw a variety of birds and a leopard walking in a distance on the road, a truly beautiful sight. Second day I went with Chamod who was an excellent spotter of birds even saw a leopard on the beach across the lake. Of course this is a National Park and you have to be lucky to see leopards and bears but the quality of the guide is a must. This is why I returned to Anton and his team. The food was excellent and bountiful. Breakfast the morning I left was a feast . Nothing is too much trouble, one evening they even arrange a birthday cake for a guest after dinner. Water is provided also there was never a problem if I wanted coffee or boiling water for my tea. Anton is passionate about wildlife and his customers, you can really feel it. At the end of my stay he even took me to the bus stop and made sure I got on the right bus. I can’t thank the team enough for another amazing 3 night stay. You can go wrong with your stay here. Excellent accommodation at a budget price.

Sampath village was an absolute delight! The room and facilities were pristinely clean and comfortable, outfitted with thoughtful touches like a tea kettle and luggage rack. They let me do a much-needed load of laundry, including a dryer so no need to wait a week for clothes to dry in the humidity. The free bikes were fantastic for exploring the beautiful city. The manager Shan was a godsend - he helped so much to arrange taxis, travel, and even a safari for me and a group of other guests - and he even woke up before sunrise to prepare breakfast for us when we went! He went above and beyond in every way and made my stay both easy and unforgettable.

This lady is a BOSS! Best host ever, she fully understood what we needed and arranged the best driver for us to have an amazing tour trough the old city! We were the second lucky guests in her completely new room. Spacious, clean and very comfortable.     The welcome and the service that we received were exceptional - unrivalled by any other hotel visited during three weeks in Sri Lanka. The staff were genuinely happy that we were their guest, and they were not afraid to show it. From the moment we arrived, they did everything and more to make sure that we were comfortable. The central courtyard garden lent the hotel an idyllic cosy community feel and allowed us to feel nicely isolated from the bustle of the streets outside. The pool area was scenic, the pool functional, and there were a bunch of sun beds from which to capture the sun as it moved above the tree line. One of us fell ill during our stay. The manager offered to take us to the hospital, assisted us there, and the entire team attended to us tirelessly day after day - including complimentary afternoon tea in our room. Bicycles were available to borrow to get around and see the various fascinating heritage sites - and we'd really recommend using them! Breakfast was predominantly Euro-continental, incredibly generous, and tastier than anything else we had in Sri Lanka outside of 5* hotels. Dinner was tasty too. The menu was diverse and competitively priced. Table service was exquisite. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and secure. The location was great - perfectly situated for exploring town, set back from the road so as to be silent at night, and with quick access to the lake on foot. A beautiful gaggle of peacocks graces the gardens. The hotel arranged our onward travel to Trincomalee in a comfortable car at a competitive price.

    Super quiet but also right in the heart of town. Beautiful green lush garden and staff were exceptionally welcoming. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Sukumal and Ajith are 2 of the most amazing people I have ever met who went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and welcomed and helped me with anything that I needed. Overall had an amazing stay and would defenatly return!

    Breakfast was beyond our expectation, it had a wide variety to choose from our servers specially Asanka was so friendly and helpful. Also Ravin @ checkin was exceptional. He went beyond his ways to get us a booking at one of their sister properties which we were struggling to get a booking due to over bookings. Staff at Cinnamon is just wonderful, true ambassadors of the hotel.

    What a wonderfully happy place to come back to after a hectic day of exploration in Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle. My room was large, spotless, and super comfy.     The owner Mr Aravinda , his wife, and their little daughter are very friendly and helpful. Calm and quiet place. The pool is small but good. Room is comfortable . AC is working.     Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place.

    Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place. It's different from the other sites in Sri Lanka because it still attracts so many pilgrims to its religious sites. It's a good idea to dedicate one day to visiting the active pilgrimage sites and the next to the historical sites, for which you need a ticket. Remember to cover up with long trousers and sleeves and don't forget your socks, because the ground is really hot and you have to take off your shoes everywhere. If you have an extra day, you can also return to the sites at night, which is when pilgrims light candles. Make sure you've got the Pick Me app installed and look out for a tuk tuk driver called Nisha. He's absolutely amazing: great driver, kind and attentive and with good English. For dinner, the atmospheric Hotel Shalini is a good bet. The Seedevi family restaurant is another good place. If you want to have a beer, they can put you in a separate 'family' room, or you can go to the tiny 'pub' next door.

    It is one of the best locations, slightly hot and humid, but if you love history and sightseeing, you cannot miss this location, further you can travel to multiple historic locations from here, we travelled to Mihinthale Temple and Mahiyangana, the drive was scenic, but Mihinthale will take your breath.

    Beautiful jungle surrounds. Lots of activities. Safari doesn't tell you about all the extra costs involved. Entry fee big. Tip for animal spotter. The Harabana lake cruise is brilliant. No motor just a gentle paddle, allowing you get up close to wildlife
