- From US$371.76 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 125 reviewsThe resort is put together beautifully. peaceful and perfectly blended with the natural surroundings. Our water dwelling was just stunning. The attention to detail and the room layout are awesome. The service was outstanding. A special thank you to Ravindra and Amila, who looked after us throughout our stay. It’s great to have a personal butler, but what made the experience really special was how genuinely they cared about making us feel at home. The guided tour of Sigiriya Rock and the elephant safari are well-organized, and the naturalists who joined us were knowledgeable and making the trips more than worthwhile. If you’re planning to do these kinds of trips, definitely go with a guide. The food was another highlight with attention to local dishes as well as international cuisine.Guest review byJanBelgium
- From US$162.34 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 668 reviewsIt is a beautiful hotel in the middle of jungle with a view for Sigiriya. The place is calm, green, tranquil and full of animals. You open the door to your room and you feel like you enter the jungle. Little huts with unique design make this place cosy and give very positive vibe. Pool has an amazing view for the lion rock and it’s a perfect place to rest and chill. Staff is very helpful, friendly and always has a smile for you. Breakfast is amazing, plenty of options and a nice mix of western and Sri Lankan food. I will definitely be back and it’s so amazing it’s worth to travel here only for this place. In the greenery and with the sounds of jungle you can really relax and rest.Guest review byMichalinaPoland
- From US$553.99 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 39 reviewsBeautiful place. Isolated from the town but the location is beautiful. You can ride bike around the rice field and lake. If you’re lucky see an elephant. The woman at the elephant centre was very nice and we learnt a lot! I am glad we stop for a chat. The diner experience was amazing! We booked the traditional diner with 27 dishes cooked traditionally in clay pot and open fire. I recommend this hotel!Guest review byYohannAustralia

Our room and the facilities were very good. We paid b&b only but had dinner buffet each night which gave us plenty of options. We had an extremely good waiter, called Nipun who looked after us. He was so attentive and was extremely good at his job. Overall lovely stay and experience.Guest review byAundreaIreland

He stayed here in 1912 that is proven. I tried to figure out which room it was to be shown by the ‚Kammerherr‘ Mr Ratnayake the best top floor suite room at a very reasonable rate…Guest review byKlaus ChristianGermany

Got the honeymoon suite for half the price of the website, therefore great value for money. The tent was a dream and we are so happy that we spent one night there. One thing that could have even further improved our stay: a bootle of bubbles in the minibar fridge - we would have bought it :)Guest review byLeonieSwitzerland

Our visit to Kandy was truly wonderful, offering a perfect blend of cultural heritage, natural beauty, and modern convenience. The city is a joy to explore, and we found it remarkably easy to get around. One of the highlights of our trip was visiting the iconic Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Maligawa) and taking a relaxing stroll around the picturesque Kandy Lake. We also loved exploring the serene Udawatte Kele Sanctuary, which felt like a peaceful escape. For those interested in the region's history, the Hanthana Tea Museum and the Kandy Wax Museum were both fascinating, and the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens were an absolute must-see with their stunning and diverse flora. The dining scene in Kandy was delightful. For lunch, we enjoyed a delicious and authentic meal at the Sri Ramya Hotel in town. For a special evening, we had dinner at Sams restaurant, which offered not only great food but also a fantastic view of the city. We also grabbed a quick bite at the restaurant on the top floor of KCC, which was very convenient. Getting around the city was surprisingly simple. The PickMe and Uber apps work well, and we found that tuk-tuks are readily available and very affordable, making it easy to hop between different attractions. While traveling without young children, we believe Kandy offers many family-friendly activities. The Hanthana Tea Museum, Kandy Wax Museum, and the beautiful botanical gardens are all engaging spots that would surely be enjoyed by families. Overall, Kandy is an excellent destination that combines rich history with natural charm and practical accessibility. We highly recommend it for any traveler.Guest review bylahiru92Sri Lanka - 10.0
There is so much more to do in this area than I realised.
There is so much more to do in this area than I realised. I will definitely come back. The area is beautiful and we were sad to leave. We dud Pidurangala Rock which was fun, more of an adventurous climb than Lions Rock. It has incredible views of Lions Rock. We also did a safari in Minneriya National Park. The park was beautiful and we saw so many elephants plus lots of varieties of birds, golden jackals, monkees, mongoose, the grizzled giant squirrel, buffalo and jungle foul. We also went to Dambula Temple Caves which is very spiritual and Luckgrove Spice Gardens which was an incredible experience. Highly recommend this area.Guest review byHazelIreland - 10.0
Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place.
Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place. It's different from the other sites in Sri Lanka because it still attracts so many pilgrims to its religious sites. It's a good idea to dedicate one day to visiting the active pilgrimage sites and the next to the historical sites, for which you need a ticket. Remember to cover up with long trousers and sleeves and don't forget your socks, because the ground is really hot and you have to take off your shoes everywhere. If you have an extra day, you can also return to the sites at night, which is when pilgrims light candles. Make sure you've got the Pick Me app installed and look out for a tuk tuk driver called Nisha. He's absolutely amazing: great driver, kind and attentive and with good English. For dinner, the atmospheric Hotel Shalini is a good bet. The Seedevi family restaurant is another good place. If you want to have a beer, they can put you in a separate 'family' room, or you can go to the tiny 'pub' next door.Guest review byMARIA GUILLAUMINESpain - 10.0

We chose not to climb Sigiriya (having just recovered from Adam's Peak!) but instead chose the much shorter Pidurangala which afforded a fabulous view of Sigiriya. Highly recommended. A visit to the Bawa hotel, Heritance Kandalama, is well worth it as an insight into the brilliant architectural mind of Geoffrey Bawa.Guest review byImanAustralia - 10.0

Half a day was enough as the sun was out and draining. At the last stop in Polonnaruwa where you have the temple there was a young man sketching and painting. There was also an older gentleman selling Neem & Jamun tree wood containers and tumblers for keeping water in the night and drinking in the morning Neem for better all over health & Jamun for decreasing blood sugar.Guest review byPRATIBHAIndia - 10.0

A beautiful place on earth that there are lots of 360 degree view points. But if it rains it will ruin your plans. So make sure you depend on weatherly and visit Matale when it shows many continuous sunny days. Even on cloudy forecasts do not visit as all mointain tops then will be covered and you will not see the sights. when it is humid leaches also will be active and will become a painful experience.Guest review byUdanaSri Lanka - 10.0

A nice hike to view a breathe taking view. If anyone should travel to Sigiriya they should start to climb the rock at 5.30am as the ticket counters open. Wearing proper hiking or workout clothes would be the best.Guest review byGavin RosayroSri Lanka - 8.0

It is one of the best locations, slightly hot and humid, but if you love history and sightseeing, you cannot miss this location, further you can travel to multiple historic locations from here, we travelled to Mihinthale Temple and Mahiyangana, the drive was scenic, but Mihinthale will take your breath.Guest review byMohamed ShazlySri Lanka
