Absolutely Outstanding Experience! Our stay at the Dormero Hotel in Sri Lanka was nothing short of amazing! The staff here is truly the best we have ever encountered – attentive, friendly, and always going above and beyond to ensure a perfect experience. From the moment I arrived the staff did an amazing job, nothing was any trouble and always a smile.. add to this an amazing building and decor you have an amazing hotel. I made the mistake of booking a place in the fort for the social aspect that was more expensive and half as nice in every department, probably forgo the 3 nights in the new place and return to Taavetti, you won't regret booking i promise you.

    We were warmly greeted and welcomed as soon as we stepped out from the vehicle and Ms.Tashmila,the Booking.com representative took care of our reservation immediately and briefed us on the facilities and accompanied right into the suite. The most outstanding person we found at the dining and that was Janaka Prasad, the F&B mangager.He was very accommodative and his entire staff was very courteous, attentive and cheerful. The service was excellent and I noticed that they took care of all guests who were present with a lot of affection. Overall,our stay was very enjoyable and kudos to the management of Occidental Eden Gardens 👍 I'm super excited to come back someday with all my family and friends to Eden Gardens Beruwala

    Area is lovely. Jungle pools are clean and so much fun and this place is so nice and quiet away from the traffic. Lot of people during day but mornings and afternoon we had the whole poolarea for ourselves. Ravi the owner upgraded is to a bigger villa last night and also have us an intereresting tour in the garden! We highly recommend some days here if you visit the west coast of Sri lanka!! Thank you so much! We went with our kids, 2 and 4 years old.

    Great breakfast and dinner at a reasonable price, also available for non-guests (our friends joined us for meals). The room had a dehumidifier, which kept our bed sheets and clothes dry. There was a comfortable balcony with a beautiful ocean view, and we enjoyed a fabulous sunset every evening. We traveled with our 5-month-old daughter, and the staff absolutely adored her. They were all smiling, kind, and incredibly welcoming to her and to us!

    We love everything! We ended up keep extending our stay. I think we stayed at least 5 nights. I love the view and the sound of the wave. This is therapy. The twins room is large enough to add one more bed and become a triple room. The staff team is super helpful and nice. They accommodated all our request! We highly recommend this hotel!     The Galle Fort in Galle is my absolute favorite place — it has a vibe of its own. It’s completely safe at any time of the day, even for solo travelers. There’s so much history within the Fort walls to learn about and beautiful architecture to explore. The hosts at the restaurants and hotels inside the Fort are amazing, and the service is truly of international standard. The view of the Indian Ocean from the Ramparts is simply breathtaking. There are plenty of restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisines and dishes to try. Outside the Fort, I highly recommend visiting the beaches at Unawatuna, just a few kilometers from Galle City Centre. While you’re there, don’t miss the Japanese Peace Pagoda at Rumassala — you won’t regret it! Yaddehimulla Road in Unawatuna has everything from surf schools and restaurants to gem shops, gelato spots, international cuisines, and everything in between. For quick bites and essentials, SPAR Supermarket at Galle City Centre is your go-to place. You’ll find tasty rice and curry meals, ready-to-eat options, mosquito repellent, basic medical supplies, snacks, good-quality fruits, and other everyday necessities.

    Property needs full renovation. Staff needs full training. Needs full cleaning. Food so bad (had dinner & so very disappointed) nothing good to say in any aspect of this hotel. My opinion shouldn’t have any stars

    All sea view rooms and the room we stayed in was very spacious . A few minutes walk to jungle beach. The staff was friendly and even made arrangements to get our meals sorted. There is a kitchen and if we bring the raw materials we can even cook on our own , just need to pay them for the space we use. Over all I enjoyed unwatuna because it was conveniently located too.

    We did not venture into Bentota.

    We did not venture into Bentota. We are expats living in Colombo so no need to explore the city. The hotel was at the right spot for a 100% relaxing weekend away with no distractions. The ocean is not that swimmable as the sea was very rough and looked dangerous. The pool was a welcome alternative. We drove to Galle for the Saturday to watch the game between Springboks and Kiwis. That was not too far, one hour away and a very scenic route. The hotel was also fully booked so must be popular.

    I really loved how cozy and clean the hostel was — it felt like home! The staff and owner were super friendly and helpful. The only small thing is that it can get a bit quiet at night, but overall it’s a perfect place to relax.

    A little town which is friendly colourful with plenty of shops for anything you need …only issue is that like every town in Sri Lanka there is a problem with waste ( plastic bottles) There are several resteraunts and lots of lovely cake shops :-) Everything is very cheap ..food , tuk tuk , train ..and clothes are an outstanding bargain to any visitor Overall a lovely place for great holiday

    There are so many locations to see.good peoples are around & very safe are. I like the place & the area.i had great time durig the vacation.I guess that threre is 1km around to the beach & also there is a logoon.i have experience the boat safari at the lake. I wish if i could stay few more days to enjoy.

    Great beach, we felt like Robinson Crusoe on the beach, almost just the 2 of us. Visiting Mahdu Lake at 6 a.m. watching the sun goes up. A natural paradise with a lot of birds and other animals. Listening to their different noises. Dining at the Mangrove Cave Restaurant we enjoyed freshest seafood. It was just very tasty.

    My favourite place was the turtle hatchery.

    My favourite place was the turtle hatchery. Most meals were eaten at the Hotel. Very easy to get around. There is a tour agency opposite the hotel entrance, it cant get any better than that. It is easy to take tuk tuk or van taxis. Superior beach front view. Beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Well done to the management and staff for this top class facility. Local fishermen were easy to approach and social chat with.
