Fortunately unnecessarily. I think the owner of this hotel took all the comments to heart. 1. Right after we arrived the owner explained us everything, especially how to stay safe in the jungle, it was very valuable. We also received a whats up contact in case of any questions or needs. The contact was great and very fast 2. There were at least 4 people from the staff from early morning till late evening. 3. My internet from Sri Lankan mobile has a perfect signal, although I do not expect it in a jungle. There is wi fi at the reception, but I did not check it. 4. Breakfast and dinner are served, everything was delicious and so much that we could not eat it all. The dinner consisted of four courses appetizer, soup, grill and desserts. It was very nice in the middle of the jungle where only torches illuminated us. 5. There is bottled water in the room, and for dinner, if you want something else to drink, you can order it. 6. Additionally, because you have to go on safari very early in the morning, coffee and tea were waiting for us before we left, and we were given a tourist fridge full of sandwiches, eggs, fruit, cookies and water to take on safari. 7. Although the safari was organized by another company, the owner of the hotel asked us for contact to the driver to make sure everything would be on time. 8. The staff is very friendly, and everyone speaks very good English. 9. The air conditioning in the huts works very well. 10. When choosing this hotel, you have to remember that these are jungle huts and not a 5-star luxury hotel, you are close to nature here and in your room you can meet a small friendly lizard, this is an adventure and you have to be ready for it. 10.Guest review byMartaPoland

Located in a quiet palm grove right next to the beach, very green and quiet (except for the crashing waves - but that's the kind of noise I could listen to all day). Peacocks walking around in the garden and sometimes coming to the pool to drink, all sorts of other birds, squirrels and monkeys can be seen all day round but never cause any trouble. Back in the day they used to have only the minimalistic cabanas (which are great btw), but I was very happy to discover that they have expanded quite a bit since 2010 and now they have the villas, a new restaurant and a pool. The villa where I chose to stay this time was very spacious, air-conditioned and had a large balcony/patio. Both the pool and the beach are less than a minute away. Super-friendly staff, helped me organize the transfer from Ella and then to Colombo for a very reasonable price without requiring any sort of prepayment. The ocean can be a bit rough at times, but that's not a bad thing, just something to be aware of. The restaurant offers excellent quality food, which applies to both the breakfast and the a-la carte dining options. Very clean and warm pool just outside the restaurant with comfortable wooden sunbeds. There's a small grocery store just on the corner of the main road (~5 min walk), and if you need more shopping then Tangalle is only ~10 minutes and ~500LKR away by tuktuk, which can be found just outside the main gate.Guest review byVladimirRussia

We were able to book a safari through the hotel & they were kind enough to arrange a packed breakfast for us since we left at 5am. The grounds are lovely & well looked after and the swimming pool was great. The room was one of the nicest we have stayed in during our trip and had so many nice touches and amenities. The restaurant was also very nice & had vegetarian options which was great. It was also amazing to have room service after a long day of driving. He gave us a real celebration in honor of our wedding anniversary. It was funny and unforgettable. The hotel itself is not new, but it has everything you need. The rooms are large and colorful. Tissamaharama is a fantastic base for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty and rich culture of southern Sri Lanka. It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. We were very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. It definitely is an experience worth trying. The tree house has all the comforts you need but yet kept on the simple side. Don't expect much and you will get a lot. Nice food Bbq and big fire lit for you in the evening to give you a chance to relax and talk about your day activities. It was great to be left alone and the silence of the night.
