But once we found it, it was paradise. Absolutely gorgeous location nestled in the woods. All three buildings are charming. The staff were great. Breakfast was amazing, as were the cocktails. Our room and bathroom were very spacious, with plenty of windows and natural lighting. Everything was tastefully arranged and decorated. Beautiful city with one of the best old towns in Europe. Great for walking around, grabbing a coffee and chilling. It's a nice spot to take it easy. There is spa available for day pass £25 for adult for 2.5 hours in Jurmala Spa hotel. No need to book in, walk in welcome. Excellent facilities and kids friendly lots to do. I went twice wile on my trip. Lots of lovely restaurants, bubs and shops to explore for all liking. I like the hotel because of its location, cleanliness and customer service at the reception. I did not like the restaurant and its staff because they do not serve enough food at the breakfast even though you pay for it. If you do not go to breakfast early, you only get some leftovers. Great small town. Big attractions are the castle; the forest walks for hikers; the nearby outdoor activity centre with kayaking etc; lovely restaurants and cafes - good food but not expensive. A hidden pearl of Latvia and Old Livonia with an island resort in the middle. Despite being almost 200 km from the seashore the city had an inspiring shore holiday feel with a great beach side island in the middle of the city.
