I would absolutely recommend this Riad to everyone! I stayed here with my girlfriend Sabina for two nights. The Riad is run by young guys who truly do everything they can to make guests feel comfortable and at home. You can really see that they do their job with love, and with this review, I want to thank and support them for their wonderful work. We were welcomed by Muhammad (sorry if I spelled your name wrong!), and since we arrived early in the morning, he welcomed us with a delicious breakfast and tea, which we received as a kind gesture. The accommodation is in a great location, between two main streets in Fes. After breakfast, Muhammad sat down with us on the couch and took his time explaining the city map and giving us many great recommendations on where to go. Every day he asked how was our day. I really like to remember one evening when we sat on the couch with Muhammad and his friend, drinking tea and having a friendly two-hour conversation about Moroccan and European culture, religion, and traveling. That was what I liked the most – Muhammad and his colleagues were really interested in their guests, they made friends with them, and really wanted to get to know them. The accommodation is clean, colorful, safe, and a true example of honest human work. When we left Fes for Marrakech early in the morning, we got a breakfast to go and even a handwritten note with tips on what to visit in Marrakech. Thank you so much! :-) BIG PLUS: Muhammad is originally from Merzouga and can help you organize a desert trip (he’ll recommend and arrange a tour for you). Mach’s gut! And greetings from Germany :-) Jakub and Sabina

Beautiful riad with an amazing roof terrace - easy to find and within a few minutes walking distance to all of the main sights. They organized a taxi for us to visit Volubilis and Moulay Idriss and even walked with us to the taxi to make sure we found it ok. Breakfast was simple and delicious and served on the roof terrace.

My partner and I enjoyed a brilliant stay at CR at the beginning of the month. From start to finish we were looked after with great attention to detail - our transfer from Meknès was arranged with no fuss and we enjoyed a tour of the hotel and wine cellar with Mahdi - who was very informative and helpful with all my questions. Mahdi also arranged a wine tasting for us on the terrace which was superb. We loved the wine and I particularly enjoyed the new CR Gin. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the team, led by Jawad, who made sure we had everything we needed. The venue is beyond beautiful and very peaceful and our room was decorated wonderfully (especially the wine barrel bath!). I would highly recommend this hotel and the whole wine experience.

Fez is a fascinating city, full of life, commerce, and talented artisans. To appreciate Fez, come with an open-mind, ready to explore a world that in many ways hasn't changed in hundreds of years. A good guide can help you appreciate the history and beauty of some of the historic buildings (the medrasa, the tanneries, the oldest university), the quality of the handicrafts and the way of life of the people who make the medina their home. Visiting the Fez medina is an intense and rewarding experience.

Interesting medina, market and main square.

Interesting medina, market and main square. Short (free) visit to mausoleum is main event, otherwise not a lot to do. Probably 1 day/night is sufficient. Use as a base for half day visit to Volubolis. Limited decent restaurants , most are in Riads. A restaurant with a terrace with nice views exists on inside of gateway near main gate

You really don't need to stop here and stay over... The todra gorge is beautiful to see, but you could drive up to it and out again. I recommend stopping at Family el Mabrouk restaurant on your way into the gorge for a truly authentic experience. They are so full of energy. They'll dress you up in traditional wear and take photo's for you. They even took me with to the Souk in town. Highly recommend.

Midelt was an interesting town/city. There is lots to explore there. We enjoyed wandering around the souk. Sitting at the foot of the mountains it is quite beautiful in the changing light. Midelt feels that it is well looked after and maintained compared to other cities and towns we have visited in Morocco.

Peculiar European style roof houses for sliding the melted ice, calm, quiet and very comfortable hotels available, especially I highly recommend MICHLIFEN RESORT. Hotel staff was very obedient, punctual. Hotel surrounding, forest tour by walk.. Deep inside, a visit to a small lake for a short picnic, smaller town comparatively and a short centre ville visit are special moments in 4 days visit. A retirement town. I breathed most clean air in the whole of my life. Very clean town.. I always used to rate some rural area of Sub Saharan Africa as the best for good air quality but now my new option is IFRANE of this beautiful country "MOROCCO".

Not much happening in this town.

Not much happening in this town. Hard to find good restaurants. Most places seem to serve fast food. Probably the biggest draw is the proximity to Ifrane National Park and the famous Barbary macaques. They are easily spotted on the road N13 leading into town mainly because people like to feed them there so there are plenty to see.

Truly spectacular building, location, and views! The facility is almost magical in in architecture...all stone that blends in with the Gorge area and the quality of the building is top notch. Also, great that it is mostly run on energy from the sun. To top it all off, we had the cave room, which is truly unique. Finally, the staff was super friendly and accomodating. Highly recommended even if a little off the beaten path. Well worth it.

Early September was the wrong time to go there (my mistake) - far too hot to be enjoyable. Getting around in the Medina was very difficult and sometimes frustrating. There one can easily fall into the trap of being accosted by self-styled guides who will take you to various shops and ask you for money at the end. Perhaps for an older traveller it would have been better to lodge outside the Medina and visit it from there with an official tour. On the positive side, some of the sites were very beautiful and the people mostly very friendly and helpful.
