- From US$110.43 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 241 reviewsDar el Mandar is a true oasis of tranquility and hospitality nestled away into a mountain side with a stunning view of Fez and the surrounding plains. The property is designed with great attention to detail - minimalism paired with traditional Moroccon style. It is elegant and luxurious, but down to earth at the same time. We spent 2 nights here to enjoy a full-day break of relaxation, sandwiched into an otherwise pretty packed itinerary of exploring Morocco. We couldn’t have been happier with our decision. Dar el Mandar was the perfect place to find some peace and quiet, and to recharge our batteries before diving back into the bustle of Fez. The rooms are clean and tastefully furnished, the staff was extremely attentive and they served excellent food as well. If we ever come back to Morocco we will make sure to spend a few nights here, Inshallah :)Guest review byJuliaGermany
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 166 reviewsThe decor and furniture inside the riad are unbelievable. Everywhere you went it was visually amazing. Each of the many areas had a different character and feel, which made the overall experience incredibly broad and diverse. Excellent value for money given how opulent and classy it was. We will definitely return there if we go back to Fes.Guest review byFrancesFrance

Fez is a fascinating city, full of life, commerce, and talented artisans. To appreciate Fez, come with an open-mind, ready to explore a world that in many ways hasn't changed in hundreds of years. A good guide can help you appreciate the history and beauty of some of the historic buildings (the medrasa, the tanneries, the oldest university), the quality of the handicrafts and the way of life of the people who make the medina their home. Visiting the Fez medina is an intense and rewarding experience.Guest review byLindaUnited States - 2.0

I think that one day Raddison Blu can be a great hotel as they have good facilities. What they lack is flexibility and customer attention as their focus is on satisfying the needs of all guests without paying attention to each.Guest review byEDWARDUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Booking.
Booking. Com is very hard to write a review in the system, it deleted all my long descriptions. The accommodation was wonderful and welcoming. The 15th century palace in the middle of the 9000 Fez alleyways was stunning and beautiful. The staff was exceptional and helpful and quickly became friends. Moroccan people are polite and respectful and helpful.Guest review bycorinnaUnited States - 4.0

Early September was the wrong time to go there (my mistake) - far too hot to be enjoyable. Getting around in the Medina was very difficult and sometimes frustrating. There one can easily fall into the trap of being accosted by self-styled guides who will take you to various shops and ask you for money at the end. Perhaps for an older traveller it would have been better to lodge outside the Medina and visit it from there with an official tour. On the positive side, some of the sites were very beautiful and the people mostly very friendly and helpful.Guest review byMacFinland - 2.0

I was in and around Fez during Ramadan.
I was in and around Fez during Ramadan. This requires believers to give up food and drink from sunrise to sunset. That is why we, as tourists, must behave respectfully towards the natives/locals... The hustle and bustle in the Medina is normal, Friday threre is a day like Sunday for us in EU. For Medina I recommend the first visit with a guide so as not to get lost between 900 - 10,000 streets As far as I know, there have been some issues at the airport with mobile boarding tickets in the past (they were calculated for paper printing), so it may be better to fix this sooner. As far as I could see on April 12, the couple in front of me came with mobile cards (on the phone) and they kindly gave them boarding passes for freeGuest review byMladenSlovenia - 4.0

It is close to the main road, relatively quite, staff are friendly, but the hotel is crying for renovation, even the beds sheets are old and have holes in them, its dated and lost its spark, its good for one night or two to crash in, if you only use it to sleep the night, very boring.Guest review bySulayman - 6.0
The medina is a Unesco protected cultural heritage.
The medina is a Unesco protected cultural heritage. Too bad the only thing you can see, apart from some (mostly closed) gates, is old narrow streets and shops. Locals prey on tourists in order to squeeze them dry :) In Rabat or Salé you can get a more authentic sense of a medina without the commercial pressure.Guest review byPeterItaly - 2.0
Location was nice
Location was nice Residence was not equipped and was very dirty I rented two bungalows and both had. Blocked sinks. Infested by ants, flies and insects. Was very dirty and that was done was poor. Pillows had no pillow cases and not enough towels left over to give us from hotel side.Guest review byRedouanUnited Kingdom
