Highly recommended - we really enjoyed our holiday at La Pirogue and hope to be back soon! The resort is really beautiful, with a nice beach, fantastic pool and comfortable rooms. They took very good care of us during the cyclone, providing information, packed food and then cleaning up the premises afterwards...
The WiFi signal was very strong (and functional even during the cyclone - which my 8yo daughter appreciated very much :))
Many thanks to all the staff, especially Wahida who cleaned our room and Dya from the main restaurant, who knew exactly how we liked our coffee... :)
We had a few rather amusing mishaps when ordering something from the Beach Bar. E.g. For three guests we got served 3 balls of icecream into 1 common cup :). The next day we ordered the same ice-cream, and this time we got it into three cups, but with no spoons. On repeated requests to several staff members we finally received... drinking straws :)) That being said, 95 % of our orders went through fine and the food was always fantastic (I highly recommend the "black box" - sandwich, frites, salad and fruit - photo attached).

I got married at Lux Le Morne. Will be a memory that I will never forget. The resort is on the middle of nature the Le Morne in the back makes you feel like you are in a movie. Also has many details that make a mix of traditional and modern style. The lagune water is crystal, and also resort is divided in two parts which each has a pool with Le Morne view.
I do not remember the names of all the staff but thankful to all for the service to make my stay unforgatteble.
I had a delay of the luggeges and when I come was stressed now I regret that I did not enjoy at the fullest. ( I was in Mauritius, why should be stressed for some clothes)
The reception help me by communicating also with the airport to fasten the procedure. Mannie and the other girl from celebration corner was a huge support for my weeding as I was only with my fiance. The spa service , beach service, room service, all the waiters and staff from each of the restorants and bar was very polite and helpful.
A vacation that will always has my heart with it.

A very pleasant surprise. The villas are wonderful and very smart located inside the resort. Because everything was renovated a couple of years ago it all looks great. The restaurants, lobby area and the bar are very nice and provide a very relaxing atmosphere. The food is good, except for fruits and vegetables which are not very tasty (all import). The beach experience is great, with a very beautiful water and sandy beach with sunbeds located 10-15 m apart. The staff is more friendly than in other hotels on the island (mauritius people are not very friendly by default). Oliver was a great host on the beach and Minta a great concierge during our stay. The overall experience is great, the hotel provides you 2 times cleaning per day, complimentary treats on the beach and in the room and a very diverse mini bar. It is a hotel in which we can return anytime with great pleasure.

Gorgeous suites, large rooms and well laid out facilities so that one area never feels crowded, even at full occupancy.
Concierge, housekeeping and front office staff were AMAZING. Went out of their way to celebrate birthdays for two members of our family with gifts and treats.
Small issue occurred and the speed with which it was rectified and the warm apology we received was amazing.
The location is 100% but he majority of the team and the level of service received is second to none.

The variety of dishes available for breakfast and dinner was enough to satisfy every taste palette. The staff was super friendly and you never had to repeat your request. The check in and check out process was also seamless and worry free. Will whole heartedly recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy a fun filled beach vacation with their family.

The location vas very great, near the beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Every evening diferent dinner, ofered diferent food. There were always free sunsbeds. Free water activites. Towel on the beach. Great, that the hotel have a car for rent.

Absolutely awesome nature and beautiful resort. Near the ocean, also you can take boat tours like swimming with dolphins. Breakfast was also nice and clean, open buffet dinner also tasty and lots of choices.

The beach outside Sands and the other hotels are beautiful, unspoilt white sands, however the public beach part further north is busier with people and cars on the road, and lots of fast food vans, cheap bars etc.

Tu beach is just amazing, the color of the water is impressive, in the public beach you have to possibility to see the see turtles. The place is a piece of paradise.
Definitely worth to go and to spend some time there.
I would recommend an hotel next to the le Morne beach most of the hotel do not have the possibility to eat or rent the sun bed just daily.
Also I would recommend the experience of swimming with the dolphins that is offered almost everywhere.

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius.
Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common.
Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.

Riviere Noire is a beautiful area, with good supermarkets and restaurants although some can be very expensive. La Bonne Chute Restaurant is to be avoided at all costs. Any complaint to the manager is just discarded as she was the owner. The local beach, La Preneuse, is very near, with beautiful white sand.

this is amazing place, the view is breathtaking, the chalet is spacious, very calm, the food is satisfying and the staff is very supportive and helping.
it is ideal for a short stay as if you would like to do more tours the location is bit far from everything and very challenging to reach. the best is to stay there and visit the nearby places around Chamarel.

Albion is a Mauritian village , located on the West Coast off the beaten track & away from the tourist holiday hot spots.
There is a local palm shaded beach with toilets & changing facilities, to enjoy safe swimming & magnificent sunsets.
Food & other supplies are available at the local Albion Mall Dodo Supermarket
Living with the local Mauritians enhanced our holiday experience as we got the know some of these friendly and gentle people.
You will need a hire car and Google Maps to get around

Walking on the beach was fun, and the water allowed easy swimming even for the not-so-strong swimmer.
The food carts added restaurant variety. We had good meals at Bouganvillea and Chez Pepe, but also enjoyed eating in and watching the sunset.
Lovely shopping, interesting people, and the public bus service worked for us. However, it was interesting that the same trip was free outbound and then cost 100 rupees (3 people) for the return trip (with no tickets issued).

La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.
