The hostel is BIG, BEAUTIFUL AND VERY CLEAN! Lots of common spaces, many plants. The colonial style of the hostel, the furniture and all details makes you feel like in a history movie which I really liked! The internet connection was good, I had some video calls, no problem. The breakfast was very nice, exactly what I eat every day: granola, fruits, youghurt, coffee, milk, pastry. Breakfast starts at 07:30, but I could eat even a bit earlier because I had an early tour. All the facilities were VERY clean, I was really surprised! In the bathroom there were liquid soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. They also had an iron, which is a lucky thing, and umbrellas, which saved me during 2 days! The guys on the reception were very friendly and helpful! I recommend this place and would definitely stay again))))

This place is simply amazing: great spacious design villas in the jungle with amazing bathrooms and lovely patios. The restaurant food is great. We had an amazing two night stay! The beach in front of the property is gorgeous. There are hammocks in the water, swings, kayaks, paddle boards, and chairs in front of the water. The rooms are amazing and so comfortable with Netflix, air con, mini fridge, shower with hot water, etc. One of the best parts is being able to use the scooters to go all over town which is included. The property is out of the town but by having the scooters, it makes it easy to go into town. The property is super clean and the workers are very nice. Breakfast is brought to your room each morning and includes a sandwich, fruit, and pastry. It's basic but good. You get one coffee pod to make in your room per day which is good. If you want you can purchase more. Each day they also restock your mini fridge with two beers, two waters and two sodas. They also clean your room daily and the property is kept very clean. This was definitely a splurge for us but if you use all of the amenities it can be worth it.

It was an unforgettable experience! It was out of this world. We truly felt like it was an experience for our senses. One thing I can say is that the photos don’t do it justice. I tried to capture it but it’s not possible! You are immersed in another world and there’s so much to explore. You will feel truly relaxed. So many little nooks & crannies. Big kudos to the artists that created this space and the architect of course. And finally a big thank you to the staff who make the stay so enjoyable. Our biggest thanks is to Luis Poot who works as a waiter in the breakfast area Alixa - he’s a fantastic person and we enjoyed meeting him very much!! Thank you Azulik - what a place you’ve created!

Historical city with lots of wonderful restaurants featuring Yucatecan cuisine. I loved walking around the Municipal Market (Mercado)...so much to see and buy there Side trips to Valladolid and cenotes, and Xcambo and Xtampu were interesting and reasonably priced. I also took a cooking class from Sofia at her home...a fun day with excellent Yucatecan food.

The downtown area is full of good restaurants with excellent Yucatecan food with reasonable prices, and service. The main Cenote and local food market is easily walkable from the main square. Walking is the best mode of transportation as everything is close by. The locals are welcoming and kind with a spirit of community and acceptance to outsiders. If you are fortunate enough to rent a place with a kitchen there is a grocery store on 39th street with everything you need to make a meal. They have a Turi bus that will pick you up at the main plaza for a fee and will take you around all the important parts of the city. The ADO Bus station is close by and can be used for trips to close by towns. They also have a "Vay y Ven" bus system for short trips around town. Valladolid is a quaint Spanish colonial style town with colonial architecture buildings mostly painted in pastel colors.

It's beautiful and laid back.

It's beautiful and laid back. The streets are not paved, so it was easy to walk and/or take a special taxi that can handle the sandy, sometimes wet, sometime potholes...I loved the 3 Island Tour offered by Casa Astral. We'll be back in June 2026 to swim with the whale sharks. Also, we took the ADO bus to Chiquila' to the ferry to Holbox that runs every hour. If you drive to Chiquila', they had several parking lots for about $5 per day since you can't take your car to the island. Enjoy!

I have been visiting Cozumel for 15 years, for diving. While the people are friendly and the number of good restaurants has increased over that time, unfortunately the reef has been degraded effecting the diving experience. Its is my contention the powers that control Cozumel care more about making money from cruise ships than the environment, local people or infrastructure of Cozumel.

In the 1990s, Isla was less-developed with fewer beach hotels. The entire north end was one large beach with unpaved streets, rather primitive and exotic, and the experience was low cost. Over the years the beach has lost a lot of sand due to some severe hurricanes and sand-bag berms have been built out to prevent more erosion. The streets were paved with block pavers and the addition of hotels has brought more tourists. These changes are probably inevitable considering the growth direction of tourism and its economic importance, but it's been more or less as it is now for the last 20 years in which we've visited many times. Compared to Playa Del Carmen which has changed dramatically, and Tulum which now has an international airport, it's kept its essential character by being isolated from the rest of the coast, and is still a great place to unwind, snorkel, and stroll the streets, beaches and rocky north coast. There is a singular charm about the island and it's residents and labor force that ferry over from Cancun, that keeps us coming back and I hope that never changes. The restaurants, to their credit, have improved over the years and that is a pleasant advancement.
