- From US$381.42 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 297 reviewsThe location was wonderful. All rooms have an unobstructed view to the beautiful landscape. The common areas are spacious and beautiful and perfect for relaxation. The staff was tremendous. The food was top notch. We booked a guided Sossusvlei tour, and we felt incredibly lucky to have such a knowledgeable and service minded guide as Natangwe. He really made our experience mind blowing and fun. We considered doing a self drive, but are glad we decided to go on a guided tour. I went for a sunset horse ride as a total beginner. Thanks to the great horse trainer and TK who arranged the sunset experience (and the fact that I was the only one attending) this became another highlight of the stay. It is about 30 minutes from the gate. This turned out to be no problem at all.Guest review byHelgeNorway
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 830 reviewsEverything. Perfect stay, unfortunately only one night. Animals, six rhinos right in front of you all the time. Good three course dinner, nice breakfast. Perfect view both from the bungalow, from the pool and the bar/ lounge. Stylish, nice furniture, very good bed, big bath, and separate toilet. Spotless clean. It is worth checking in early, so much to see. Complementary coffe / tea table with water, cookies, etc. Just grab some and watch wildlife and chill.Guest review byZoltanNorway

The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The location is absolutely stunning and you can observe wild animals as you drive in. The room was very comfortable and well equipped. The restaurant was delicious and we enjoyed our meals there. There is bike rental and a nice track you can do around the area. This was a highlight of our time in Namibia.Guest review byApril WilsonNew Zealand

The photos don’t do it justice. Everyone was so welcoming and the location was great to drive from Windhoek and close enough to get up early and head to Sousselvlei for a sunrise walk. Amazing stars at night and a lovely 4 course meal for supper. Thank you for our lovely stay.Guest review byEmilyUnited Kingdom

What a beautiful place my goodness.
What a beautiful place my goodness. So much to do in the area - we would have definitely stayed longer to try out the different activities. Climbing the dunes at Sossusvlei was honestly the best day. It was beautiful and I can’t wait to be back!Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

We stayed in this location mainly to visit Sossusvlei which is further south. Solitaire itself is a charming but tiny settlement - only a few buildings and a petrol station, however it has an amazing cafe serving "the world's best apple pie" and it was! Solitaire is about a 20 minute drive from Soft Adventure Camp at the Namib Naukluft Lodge.Guest review byJulietAustralia - 8.0

It was busy but still private enough not to spoil the overnight stay. The staff were very helpful in the shop. It was useful to have the fuel station as well. The supplies in the shop were adequate for the overnight stay and the location was convenient for Sossusvlei. The drive into Sossusvlei was fine but very crowded when we got to Deadvlei. Well worth a visit though.Guest review byFionaZimbabwe - 10.0

We stayed at the Desert Camp, not far from the park entrance...
We stayed at the Desert Camp, not far from the park entrance gate. It was an easy drive to the park, and the 60km of wonderful tarred road to the 2 wheel drive car park. This gives access to Dig Daddy dune and Deadvlei. From here the park vehicle took us to Big Momma dune, and also goes to Hidden Vlei. All very easy. Dune 45 is 45 km along the road. The bus cost 180 Namibian dollars in October 2023. Wear runners to climb the dunes and walk to Deadvlei. Har, sunglasses and water are essential. We ate at the restaurant inside the park gate. Good and affordable. We bought our water at the shop there. Breakfast at the Sossusvlei Lodge was good too. I would recommend paying extra for tyre and glass insurance when picking up your rental car. Prior to coming to Sesriem, we had a flat tyre far from anywhere and Hertz directed us to a lodge with tyre repair services. We had to go on to Outjo to get the fixed tyre replaced, but the insurance made it less of a concern.Guest review byStevenIreland - 10.0
