If you are looking to spend a romantic time with your loved one and/or you are an aviation enthusiast, this is the perfect place for you. Make sure have plenty of time, or best spend 2 nights, in order to enjoy all the amenities of this one of a kind 'hotel'! Marjan is the perfect host. She even brought my breakfast in the evening (for the fridge), because I had an early start the next day for a flight out of AMS. Unfortunately I was alone on a business trip with not nearly enough time. I will definitely return, with more time and in company. Note: Traffic between Amsterdam and Teuge between 7.00 and 9.00 and between 15.00 and 18.00 is crazy so plan accordingly. You definitely need a car. Nice clean town, plenty of places to eat and drink. The bridge museum is small but interesting. There wasn't much else to do that appealed to us, but we walked to Oosterbeek to see the annual celebrations. I love this city, it's my favourite place I have been to in the Netherlands (so far). The city centre is very walkable, despite it not being flat (highly unusual in the Netherlands!). Plenty of cultural sights, and things to do. Easily accessible by train with great connections all over the country. You can easily spend a few hours, or even a whole day, at the river beach (Waalstrandje) when the weather is nice. There are a few shopping streets, personally I like the Lange Hezelstraat with its record shops, gift shops, and vintage clothing stores, or if you like the high street shops then the Broerstraat is the place to go. The Grote Markt and old town area is full of small streets with little shops, cafes, and bars. One of the highlights of our trip was the city bikes provided at our chalet. They allowed us to explore Putten and its surroundings in a fun and environmentally friendly way. This gave us a new perspective on the town and its scenic surroundings, making our stay even more memorable. In terms of history and culture, Putten didn't disappoint. The Old Church in the center of the town is a must-visit. Its beautiful architecture and serene ambiance made for a worthwhile experience. The property is very near the lake, so if you’re into fishing, Keet is your man - he has a wealth of knowledge about fishing in the area and is willing to freely share it with you. We have stayed in this area a number of times. In the local area we like Spakenburg best of all. We also stay here to visit Arnhem because of the museums and we like the waterfront at Nijmegen. The historic centre was well worth visiting and taking time to explore the city. There are plenty of coffee houses to enjoy although in the evening, a number of establishments were closed through staffing shortages. There were sufficient to enable a different restaurant each night. I thought that the price was expensive but normal for the Netherlands.
