It was perfect as last location of our whole trip. We have stayed there for two nights befor our return flight home. We have immediately felt home and cosy. Jackie and Steve are extraordinary hosts - thank you so much! The room was wonderful, comfortable and spacious. The location right in the middle of everything and directly at the old tramway is perfect. The breakfast together with others guests was awesome and delicious. Thank you so much! We loved it!

    The location was perfect. It was less than a minute from any of the venues I needed to be at during my stay. The room was well appointed and spacious. The bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was well stocked, good water pressure and easy to control water temperature. The rain shower option was great and the switch from hand held to rain shower was easy to operate. The big windows all around allowed for plenty natural light and a great view across the city. Friendly helpful staff. The food in the restaurant was good too. Sadly, I did not get to enjoy breakfast as had to attend breakfast meetings both days.

    We stayed in the lodge rather than the tree houses. Fantastic accommodation with wonderful attention to detail, and great facilities such as a large spa bath, gas fireplace. Breakfast and dinner were included, and these were excellent. Great views back towards the kaikoura range, and a 15 minute walk will get you down to the beach for more fabulous views. The Lodge arranged whale watching for us, and were very helpful in answering any queries we had. Would definitely stay again.

    You can not fault the view you get in any weather or spot in this place. There were unfortunately many upgrades happening during our visit including the kids play area which was just across from our room, this was unfortunate but once they are done it will only make this place even more amazing for the kids too. It's situated on a picturesque river with beautiful Botanic Gardens and Hagley Park within easy reach. (Stunning blooming flowers Sept-Oct.) There are plenty of good eateries and it's awesome to see the modern shopping areas and facilities that have resurfaced over the last few years.

    I adore Lake Tekapo. Views for days. Good hot pools. Peaceful. A decent serious hike up Mt John to the Observatory Cafe or an easier one up to Cowes Lookout, both with amazing views. I've been going for years - still small but a good supermarket now and more eateries. It is getting busier and pricey, both accommodation and eateries. On the road to Queenstown so an easy stopover. Go with a car if you can - a side trip into Aoraki Mt Cook and walks up the Hooker Valley are worth it.

    Mount Cook Village is a great location if you are planning to do some walks in the area. We did the Hooker Valley Track, Sealy Tarn Track, and the Tasman Glacier View after which we were exhausted and travelling to another location would have been a bit much. Staying at the village was the best decision. At night you can travel slightly out to get the most exceptional views of stars and in the morning you wake up to unbelievably beautiful views of mountains. If you are lucky you might just get some snow.

    My husband and I have been coming to Twizel for several years now. My husband comes for the fishing and I for the photography. We have stayed in all seasons. This time it was July middle of winter. Didn't catch any fish but I got some great photos. Had a lovely meal out at Poppies. Would recommend them. We were disappointed with our accommodation, but it didn't ruin our stay in Twizel.

Caroline Bay is a delight, and has been developed to be a destination for families in particular. There are a range of eateries to cater for different tastes and pockets!     Opuke Thermal Pools & Spa are a must see, must do. World class! The mountains are beautiful. If you have transport, close by is Ashburton, Lake Coleridge and much more. The information centre in Methven, "I-Hub" is a wealth of information and things to do. Off the beaten track, an alive, looked after, vibrant small town NZ with genuine charm and a smile. My wife and I loved it, we will be back.

    Charming little town with an amazing bakery called "A La Baguette". Plenty of other wonderful shops to browse through and find the perfect gift. Full of history re French settlement in 1840 and British settlement in 1850. It's a really fun drive there too - endlessly zigzagging roads that showcase incredible vistas at each tight turns. Lots of walks in the area too for all levels. I visited in September when it was cool but sunny; I'm sure it must be a bustling place to visit in the Summer months.
