- From $68.87 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 648 reviewsThe entire manaaki of this place was outstanding. Thank you very much for hosting a short notice space for our Hapū lunch, when our marae became unavailable due to a tangihanga. Your support in this matter was amazing. The cleanliness of the self contained units, cabins, communal kitchen, ablution blocks and house, the property and facilities, volley ball space, carpark area, playground area, space for sporting activites, pool and riverside for swimming were definitely highlights for family highlights. A fantastic place for families - absolutely highly recommended.Guest review byAnesaNew Zealand

Everything is within walking distance, and everyone is so friendly. Jimmy Jacks is awesome to eat at, food is amazing. Our husbands went out on a fishing charter, great experience they enjoyed it. Recommend Big Fish for the charter.Guest review byReeves - 10.0
This last minute get away was one of our best short trips...
This last minute get away was one of our best short trips yet. We stayed at the Avalon Resort, which is one of my favourite places we have ever stayed. I could have stayed for much longer. It just has the best vibe. down to the amazing host, Location and the rooms are just beautiful, (all have your own private decks) check in simple & easy. Makes you feel at home. We also enjoyed the Horse Trek at the DriftWood Seaside Escapes the next morning, about 40 minutes from the town centre. Milli is just amazing catered to my 2 young children and made us all feel so comfortable. the location of the Trek is just an amazing bonus. also the friendly dogs who come along for the Trek. The views are breath taking and Milli and her team are just the best! Our little stay in KeriKeri has to be the best short trips we have taken for a long time. we can't wait to come back. if your looking for a affordable Resort Bali vibe stay with your children or some alone time this is absolutely the place to stay. If you want to do something a little different check out Driftwood Seaside escapes and go see Milli for an exciting Horse Trek Through the Forest, down to the beach and through beautiful bush.Guest review byAnyaNew Zealand - 6.0

Kaitaia is exactly how you find it - unpretentious, with all the stores you need to make your stay comfortable. Do support all the local businesses - get your nails done, purchase some books, dine out, visit the Saturday market!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Do yourself a favour and stay for a few days at this...
Do yourself a favour and stay for a few days at this wonderful place. There are so many walks, and lots of beautiful spots to explore. It would be a shame to limit yourself to the main street. The museum and the French Printery are certainly worth a visit, as is getting up to the top of Flagstaff Hill and having a coffee from the van on Long Beach. The 4 Square shop is well stocked and reasonably priced if you are self catering.Guest review byAAustralia - 4.0
This was a memory trip, so it was the first time.
This was a memory trip, so it was the first time. SORRY, I had to mention the incident, but wiser to leave it. Now you wanted a report, I only mentioned it in case something was wrong and could happen to somebody else. It has gone no further. You have done well in the decorating, and perhaps we will come again CaroleGuest review bycaroleNew Zealand - 10.0

Mangonui is gorgeous - fabulous walkway, unique art & gift shops, great eating - Breakfast at Jesse's was huge & delicious. It is also handy to all the East Coast beaches - the north is always a favourite trip down memory lane for us.Guest review byShirleyNew Zealand - 10.0

Access to main area within walking distance, area for kids to play, plenty of cabins, you had your own area, next time would get one with all facilities and preferably the first one on the right as you enter.Guest review byPaul - 10.0
Great beach and good location to explore the far North area.
Great beach and good location to explore the far North area. We took a bus tour up to Cape Reinga which was a real highlight and explored nearby Cape Karikari in our car. We ate our dinners at Mangonui, a 5 minute drive from Coopers BeachGuest review byAndrew - 10.0
Taipa has the lovely resort and beach, but there is not much...
Taipa has the lovely resort and beach, but there is not much else. However, Taipa is part of a gorgeous stretch of coastline including Cable Bay, Coopers beach and Mangonui. Within a few kilometers you have all the amenities you need, plus local attractions and shopping. There is the Famous Mangonui Fish shop over the water, a couple more lovely cafes, places to buy local art and craft, a walkway and pa, a picaresque harbour and opportunities to get out on the water. Go!Guest review bybethNew Zealand - 8.0
Nice laid-back place way up North, with friendly people...
Nice laid-back place way up North, with friendly people everywhere. The shops are clean and well-patronised, saw a couple of locals take off their gumboots at the entrance, woww! The ambience of Pukenui and it's residents reflected the calmness of Houhora Harbour, and respect for the environment. The fishing with Rob Parker of Houhora Fishing Charter was superb, relaxed and "real". If you want great fishing on the water then this is a must stay place! It's a easy pleasant trip up to Cape Reinga from Pukenui, beautiful white sand beaches are accessible all up the top of Te Tai Tokerau/Northland NZ. We'll be back!!Guest review bySammeNew Zealand
