The purpose of our trip was to visit new (6 month old) grandaughter. Not being to familiar with our way around I found driving to be a bit of a challenge. Therefore it was not a holiday destination in the traditional sense.Guest review byIan and LornaNew Zealand - 10
Great things to do in Wellington.
Great things to do in Wellington. Te Papa has fabulous exhibitions to browse, Zealandia is wonderful, relaxing and healing. The uniqueness of so many of the shops is great so a wander through quirky Cuba Street, and Thorndon shops is a tonic. And as for all the fabulous coffee and cafes, including along the waterfront- Karaka Cafe a must, along with Eva just downstairs, truly spoilt for choice. Breakfast, lunch and dinner choices overwhelming. The Lab, Fidels pop up, Floriditas, Highwater the list goes in. Too many places not enough time, and all really closeGuest review byChristineNew Zealand - 10

We loved North Island, particularly Rotorua with many options around our main interests: Maori Culture and Nature. There is So much to see. Visit and Dinner at Mitai Village, also our Visit to Te Puia Thermal Park, the Maori Arts & Crafts Institute and Kiwi Conservation Centre were Fantastic! Also the Buried Village (june 1886) and a number of Beautiful Waterfalls! Also worth paying a visit to Patrick's Pies, absolutelly great pies that received many prizes! Hobbiton visit was also very interesting.Guest review byPstirlingAustralia - 10

Taupo is much better visited outside of the busy periods (school holidays). When there's less traffic and you can get around without issue and finding a carpark is more likely. So much to see and do and many amazing restaurants. Wairakei is also only up the road and there are many geothermal attractions within a short driving distance.Guest review byDinhfamilyNew Zealand - 8.0

Hamilton is great in terms of the distance to all the main attractions however there is a dearth of facilities near by the airport and too expensive transportation. Flying from Hamilton airport is so smooth and easy.Guest review byShivaAustralia - 8.0

It has many Art Deco buildings which makes it an interesting city. The area around the sound shell is beautifully landscaped. There seems to be a good range of food outlets and I had one of the best pork crackling meals at The Marine Bistro that I have ever eaten.Guest review byVickyNew Zealand - 10
The square in Palmy is great. Have a good explore around.
The square in Palmy is great. Have a good explore around. If you can, go to a show at the Regent on Broadway. It is a beautiful theatre. Popeyes is now open on the way out of town, it is delicious. EB games is in one of the malls and well worth checking out if thats your sort of thingGuest review byAllanNew Zealand - 8.0

Traffic lights at the roundabouts that’s something we don’t see everyday. Chilled town and friendly people , I’m guessing it’s alot busier over summer . Fernland spas , relaxing , affordable, refreshing spas. Make that a must do while you are in town.Guest review byAnonymousNew Zealand - 10
