New ZealandEverything was amazing! Brand new, modern and impeccable clean facilities! They even have a well equiped guess lounge on the second floor for everyone to chill and enjoy the view! Mary was super kind and welcoming. She even kindly reminded us through booking.com that the restaurants in town would be really busy on the day we scheduled to arrive due to the Easter holiday which helped us plan ahead. It's super quite and dark at night so would be a perfect for stargazing place if it wasn't cloudy that night. Already looking forward to going back some time and having a proper stargazing experience there. Also FYI, they have some really cool "old-fashioned" airplanes in the same building! Mary was so kind and gave us a tour when we asked about it. This is honestly one of the best motels we ever stayed!

The little extras in the bathroom, perfect. The motel is boutique size and is located in a quiet area away from the main road. Owners were lovely. Loved it!

IrelandA fabulous cottage, clean, comfortable, with everything one could want provided. The patio was a lovely private place to chill.
Twizel itself is small but with good facilities and an excellent supermarket. An easy walk from the cottage to the shops and restaurants. Easy driving distance to the lakes and Mt Cook. Loved our time here.

My husband and I have been coming to Twizel for several years now. My husband comes for the fishing and I for the photography. We have stayed in all seasons. This time it was July middle of winter. Didn't catch any fish but I got some great photos. Had a lovely meal out at Poppies. Would recommend them. My wife and I really cannot rave about this retreat enough. The villas are exceptionally appointed and spacious. The environment is picturesque, tranquil and peaceful. The food provided in the villas and the meals cooked by the chef are truly delicious and guests individual tastes are catered for. The staff are very welcoming and friendly whilst ensuring that privacy is a key component of the experience. The villas could not be cleaner or more tastefully presented. Cute, small town with the most amazing scenery. The town itself is very small, but offers so much with scenic walks, activities & the locals are super friendly. We had dinner at the Razza Bar - a small, old school bar with the best atmosphere & great food. The owner was really friendly and told us all about the lord of the rings filming and where we could find the area where the fight scene was filmed which was very cool. I didn’t see much of Otematata as I arrived late afternoon, had a meal and then retired to my room. The next day we drove on to Geraldine early morning. The countryside is interesting, the views superb, I love the McKenzie country and I’ll return for longer next time. The apartment was very clean and had everything that we needed. The pub was brilliant and had exceptional food and a great atmosphere. Previous negative reviews of the apartments were completely unfounded. Sofa bed was lumpy with springs sticking out and needs replacing, otherwise no complaints.
