Surprisingly beautiful, there is plenty of trees and plants everywhere, its almost like the whole city is a park. The roads in some places are very bumpy,I guess from the earthquakes. Yummy pies in the city center, the huge church being held up by massive steel beams is a sight in itself. There were soo many places to eat,but sadly I was thinking about getting into shape. More time needed as I imagine there is some fun things to do. Theres a tunnel that takes you through the hillside to Littleton and the wharf areas ,where if you want to give your legs a great workout the steep streets will not disappoint . Fun drive over the hill and back down to sumner .Guest review byHemiNew Zealand - 10.0
We loved hiking,so many trails to choose from.
We loved hiking,so many trails to choose from. We took a trip to Milford Sound with Pure Milford which was amazing, we also went on the Shotover Canyon Jet boat trip which was also fabulous. Lots of places to eat and stunning scenery, Queenstown is well worth a visit.Guest review byMatthewAustralia - 10.0

There is so much more to see in Dunedin than what I could see on this trip, but I couldn't stay away from home for too long. Dunedin is a great place, museums, art galleries, interesting buildings to visit, beaches, historic homes and public buildings, wildlife places... and it's not overrun by tourists like Queenstown....Guest review byD.B.New Zealand - 4.0

I have been Late Tekapo 3 times, it is more expensive than it was. My recommendation is, stargazing is the only reason to make you stay in Lake Tekapo. Otherwise you could find a better and less expensive accomodation nearby.Guest review byAnonymousAustralia - 10.0

Very Pretty, lots of places to have a coffee or drinks, enjoyed a drink on the waterfront looking at a amazing view, also scenic drive to Lake Hawea and went as far as the lookout when the road takes you to top of Lake Wanaka.Would of loved to had more time to do some short walks.Guest review byLynleyAustralia - 10.0

A very pretty little town on Lake Te Anau, with the snow covered mountains of Fiorland National Park as the back drop. Plenty of eateries many right on the lake. Supermarkets and specialty shops. Beautiful walks. Hiking trails if you're looking for that. Jaw droppingly beautiful scenery everywhere. A 2 hour drive to Milford Sound or take a bus tour. Tours from Queenstown stop off in Te Anau to collect passengers & drop back on return trip. This was what we did and it was so much easier than travelling all the way from Queenstown. Te Anau is a nice and worthwhile drive from Invercargill. We just loved Te Anau. It was all and more that I'd hoped for!Guest review byLee-AnneAustralia - 8.0

Nelson has a lot of speciality stores and a lot of food options. The Markets in the weekends are not for those looking for a bargain but do support local and NZ made and although some were costly, there was a lot of selection of goodies. Stoke the Bach Restaurant was staffed with lovely young girls, and the food was excellent and value for money The Arden Monaco where we stayed has limited room facilities and is not staffed outside of working hours, but the beds are comfortable and with very dark woodwork old paintings and very heavy doors, the facility was well equipped with heat pumps and hot water.Guest review byKimNew Zealand - 10.0

A beautiful part of the world. 1 extra night to explore the place would have been nice. Hotel located with in walking distance to shops, pubs and restaurants. Staff at the hotel were lovely. We ate in the bar as the restaurant was fully booked and the food was great. Definitely recommend staying here. We had a room with a view of the beach.Guest review byNadineAustralia - 8.0

The welcome from Victoria was excellent and the information she supplied was very helpful, we stayed in the different pools a total of six hours until they closed at 7pm, The day was overcast with intervals of sunshine, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and some thing to wrap around you if wind is blowing, excellent place to visit for us oldies or if you have kids of all ages,Guest review byDavidson - 8.0

My husband and I have been coming to Twizel for several years now. My husband comes for the fishing and I for the photography. We have stayed in all seasons. This time it was July middle of winter. Didn't catch any fish but I got some great photos. Had a lovely meal out at Poppies. Would recommend them. We were disappointed with our accommodation, but it didn't ruin our stay in Twizel.Guest review byUdenNew Zealand
