IrelandNice hotel with nice gardens. We only had a short 1 night stay and departed very early am! But we could not fault this property. Staff were helpful and friendly and the gardens had chickens and baby chicks wandering around which I thought was lovely. Great sunset view overlooking the black sand beach from the garden.

CanadaHeiata was a wonderful host - 5 star . We stayed with her on two different occasions during our trip . The apartment was very clean , very comfortable and good running water . We had the best sleep in all our two week vacation in FP . She provided us transportation whenever she can . She is warm and welcoming . We highly recommend her .

PanamaTahia was amazing...we got a very nice gracious welcome..she gave us all the information we asked for..since we did not have Internet in Tahiti, she let us have her hotspot in order for us to find our way around the island...we rented a car with them..their rental cars are in very good conditions - ours was brand new - right there on their property ...very easy...she also pointed a famous restaurant on the island which was a must!! Absolutely gorgeous...our room was very beautiful,modern and clean...and right next to the airport...we had a taxi taking us to the airport.. Tahia took care of everything...great place, great host... highly recommend!!

Papeete itself is very bland and the market is over-rated (in my opinion). I wished I had planned properly and spent few nights at Moorea, but I didn't know what to expect. Rookie mistake 🫣 Lessons learnt. Despite mixed advice from the locals, I felt safe walking at night, which is a positive outlook for the Island 🙏 As many reviewers have mentioned, Papeete is only a good stopover to the other islands 🏝 😀 The 2 highlights of my stay was the day trip to Moorea, doing the safari excursions and the cultural night at the InterContinental Hotel.Guest review byLeeAustralia - 10.0

The room had a nice view & the tv had netflix but it was noisy with the bar playing music all night. If you have any food intolerances don't go here, they don't cater for it at all & aren't prepared to make anything that isn't on the menu. The jet ski's are constantly whizzing past just outside the lagoon so swimming in the sea is dangerous & they have resident Cockerell's in the property that call constantly from dawn to dusk. The nearest supermarket is 1.5 miles away & you have to walk at the side of a very busy duel carriageway & breathe in the fumes. The reception & bar staff are lovely but the catering staff are unhelpful & unpleasant apart from the chef.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

If you rent a car, there are lots of traffic circles and they drive fast! Ate at food trucks which were really good and good price. Walked to a little corner store which provided enough to get us through the first day. Careful of the dogs running wild in the streets. Seem friendly enough, but did hear of a person getting bitten by one. Would not want to walk in the dark in that area. Hotel seemed safe at night. Rented a vehicle and drove the entire island of Tahiti Anui and Tahiti Iti. High recommend driving the entire island. Lots to see and do!Guest review byHeidiCanada - 10.0

Amazing! We cooked our on food. The Villa was great my kids had their own room, blast music, no neighbors, walked the mountain. Thing I didn’t like not air on the mountain as far as breeze none even with the all the windows open we had to call the owner to get fans for air. They were accommodating to bring us fans. I liked the area because it was away from the main city. The locals are very friendly. Just make sure you have transportation. I would recommend renting a car. Very hard to locate the actual apartment as there are no signs and the name appears to be wrong. Lucky for us to find a lovely generous occupant who helped us into our studio apartment. Spending a day or two there would have been enough, there was obvious poverty, with multiple homeless people. Not what I expected at all. I hired a car to visit the sites, but when I was driving around, everything looked closed, or uninviting. As a solo tourist, this wasn't the best place to visit.
